    Default Help on Eufaula

I am planning on a trip to Eufaula later this week. Any help would be appreciated. Areas, depth, presentation, location of good brushpiles, etc.

    Thanks in advance.

Likely in the Crowder area. Maybe near Arrowhead. I guess south side.

If it were me I'd double dip beaver bottoms with huckabee rods on steeper rock banks in 6-10 foot of water. Just depends where the fish are showing on the graph. Definitely double dip jigs while slow trolling. If that's not your style, anchor over some brush in the same depth with minnows. If they aren't there go search the rip rap for fish in 5-20 foot. Summer bite on rip rap gets really good but might be a tad early.

Right now the bite on the south end is shallow sloping banks, points, and secondary points with chunk rock and bolders. The bite is in 7' to 9' and you have to dig them out of the rocks. You may or may not see the crappie in numbers since they are dug in. You will need to keep your jig in contact with the bottom and touching the rocks. You will see the bait fish and the crappie will be there. We fished around the rain storm Saturday and kept 78 in 5 hrs catching over 150. Again the bite is from 9A bridge all the way to the mouth of Gaines Creek. Our technique was double dipping 2 jigs, bottom 1/4oz Fle Fly Big Eye, top a 1/8oz Fle Fly Big Eye, Fle Fly 3" Crappie Kickers in Pumpkin/Chartreuse and Black/Chartreuse on Huckabee Pro Series Rods. Hope this helps KingRanch..........Ranger

    Thanks Ranger09,
I ws contemplating giving you a call once the summer pattern sets in .... then I see that you sold your boat!! Ive only been on this lake once in April. When you say "double dipping", I understand 2 jigs, but are you spider rigging or single pole? I asume staying in contact w/ bottom means single pole?

Rod in hand. I am using 2 rods one in each. Gives you just a bit more chance of getting bit, and I will add fish slow, very slow since you are digging them out of the rock. I will say EB is a very good choice if you are looking for a fun time on the water. If you need his # just give me a call. Thanks and I will be back in action pretty quick, just not quick enough for me.......Ranger
