Never put a ruler on them.
We just happened up on them.

Went back next few days with proper equipment and just killed them.

Claremore Lake and Bristow city lake are good for numbers of fish. I fished Claremore Lake this morning for two hours just walking the bank with a Brim Buster Pole and a box of worms and kept 50 Bluegill and 10 Red Ears between 6 1/2 and 7 1/2 inches. Once in awhile I catch one 8 or 9 inches but most are in the 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 inch range. If a person was so inclined he could catch hundreds in a day from either lake, just few really big ones. Lake Dahlgren in the ODWC wildlife management area over at Lexington used to be managed for trophy sunfish but I haven't heard any reports from there in several years.
