Default A snake came in my Ranger!!!

I thought I would share this story, we had a 5ft water snake get in the boat with us. We had noticed several snakes that day, probably 5 or 6 different ones. We are fishing under the bridge and see this snake coming right at the boat, I said Kyle that snake is coming right at you, so he hit it with the rod twice. Needless to say it did not stop the snake he came under the boat and the next thing we know he was crawling on the back deck. So at this point Im digging out my wooden pole that goes to my umbrella, James is laughing, Kyle screaming like a little girl. I get after it with that pole and he curls up right under my motor on the jackplate. I hit him in the head I can't believe that snake crawled up in the boat with us. Just last weekend we seen a cottonmouth eat a pigon. So don't think Im not watching for snakes very closely. Ive seen more this year than ever.

Now who wants to go fishing with me? LOL EB

2 yrs ago I had one drop out of a tree right on the front deck right behind me fishing in Coal Creek. I was about to let him have the boat after all the gestering that nasty thing was doing. As I was preparing to make my plunge the snake decided it was really wanting to get wet also. He went one way and me the other.....sure wish I could of made a good snake outbid him but that didn't happen......Ranger

My boat would of probably had a bunch of holes in it (since the Governor rides with me.)

In Louisiana I had two sub-teen boys with me, and a Green Water snake came up the Fish Stringer and into the Boat.
One of those Boys made it to the ground without getting wet.

Another time I watched a Snake try to eat one of my Bream off the stringer. Those snakes have a big mouth, but he never made it happen.
I just wish I could be better at fishing. Or maybe luckier!:D

A few years ago, the wife and I were running our limb lines at night over at Ft. Cobb. There was a tree on a point, where we could place five lines. I was rowing the boat as the wife went to get the first line. I heard a mild squawk, then a splash, then nothing. "Was that a snake?" "Yeah, for all YOU care. It landed right on my head." She is really afraid of snakes, so I couldn't believe she was so calm about it.
We camped out at Cobb for a number of years, mostly during fall and winter. One year, we had a snake that would come out of the water, slither over to a tree next to our camp fire, and climb up and out onto a branch directly over our fire, presumably to warm himself. Ralph became almost like a pet.

This Sir is why I carry a weapon with me when I am fishing. I would of had to replace a lot of holes in the boat. I hate snakes. I had a couple of room mates after high school put a rubber snake in my bed connected to a string. I get into bed and feel this stupid thing moving under the blankets. I reach down and pull it out just as they pull the string again, which made it look like it reared it's head back and was about to strike. They started cracking up until I put 7 240 grain 45 acp rounds into after I threw it on the floor. They never did put anything else in my bed after that. LOL
