You are probably looking just over an hour from Coweta to that bank fishing in Crowder. We live in Broken Arrow and it takes us about an hour and a half to go door to door to our place down at Arrowhead (Canadian exit off H-69, which is about 5 miles north of Crowder). Last weekend I made a trip to McAlester and there were tons of vehicles pulled off the side of the road and I saw lots of bank fishing. You can get minnows from the little gas station/store just inside Crowder (take the first exit off H-69 for Crowder and go East back over the highway and follow the winding road into Crowder -- the store will be on your left). They sell minnows by weight, not by quantity. You can actually just go across the street from that store and get to some of that same bank fishing -- and not be so close to the highway in case the little ones want to run around a bit.
