Wister Slab daddy has been catching them pretty steady. Big fish 1.90 last weekend, one pole in the brush, jig tipped with a minnow. EB

I did pretty good, biggest was 1.6. Fished black /green and firefly minnow minders with small minnows. Water was 38-39, fish were from 18 to 23 FOW around the shad. Caught lots of little ones from the wood, better fish on edges away from the wood. I dont know why that was the case, maybe most the bigger ones have been picked off. Lots of fish, it was challenging trying to get to the bigger ones tho.

All whites Redge, I dont think I have ever caught a black at Wister. A lot of those funky "black nose crappie" yesterday.

Did they have a black stripe from their nose to their dorsal fin? A guide on Sardis Lake Mississipi calls those black nose crappie Magnolias ! I saw that on tv show called KRAPPIE KINGS. T he black was on top of backbone..

We call them Mohawk crappie. I have only been to Wister once in august the weather was hot and the bite was not!

Yup, black stripe into the dorsal fin. Caught probably 6 or 7 of them.
