    Default My trip back home.

Well I never really gave a report on my trip home Labor day weekend so here goes. Saturday morning got up and launched out of hickory point and hit the visible brushpile south of the ramp. Caught 2 keepers and I don't know how many dinks. Headed back toward the channel next tree I landed a nice striper. I moved on. The next spot I caught another keeper and a bunch more dinks. That was the pattern for the day. 1 nice fish (if I was lucky) and a ton of 8" throwbacks. Took Sunday off for church and time with my parents. Monday I hit 1 of the local city lakes that I didn't even know if it held crappie but I wanted to find out. What I found was 85% of the lake was less than 5' deep with an 11' hole being the deepest water in the lake and almost no structure. If you could find a stump in more than 5' of water the crappie were stacked on it. I found a huge brushpile right against the dam in 10' of water that had fish all over it. I fished for 3 hours and had 25 keepers. I'm going back down there asap to see if it was a fluke.
