Spider Rigged Saturday and although it was a slow bite, we managed 12 keepers or at least what I consider a keeper since the NAV has no size limit. The fish we caught were suspended above brush in 12 foot of water. Minnows were the ticket as no line baited with jigs caught fish. WT was 56; water level was above normal and stained. This was also the maiden voyage of my new Motorguide Xi5. What a difference maker!
It's a great motor.
Looking to put in at 3 forks and fish this weekend. Has anyone fished recently? Any tips? I have only fished it once ad that was last year on coody creek. Should I fish that direction toward Hopewell or head north towards ft Gibson? Any help would be great. Thanks and hope yall have been catching slabs!
sorry poohage, havent been keeping up.the best bet would be to go on down from coody to manard bayou.its on down just before the bend on the north side.there is also Boudinot creek just across from Hopewell ive actually had better luck there in the past couple weeks.be careful and go slow in both until you get the channel down as there are lots of stumps just under the surface.shoot me a text next time you go I may be headed out there myself.918-616-2083
Got on the water at 8am today and caught 5 nice ones and 2 dinks by 9am. Figured it was about to be a special day on the nav channel but I only caught one more crappie the rest of the day. Marked a lot of brush for next time and released the biggest three in my back yard- 12.5-13.5". Minnows were the ticket today in 7-9 fow. Water temps started at 73 and by 4pm were up to 80 degrees. I fished all kinds of lay downs and brush piles in 5-26 fow and saw loads of fish on the locator but when that sun came out they shut off like a switch today. Water was really murky and the shad were thick as always.
