Haven't been around much, What a year! (not in a good way)
Haven't even had the boat in the water since February or March. My mom went in for surgery in April and was in and out of the hospital up until about 2 weeks ago. The scariest was the last time she went in with Sepsis. Just awful but thank God that she has really been on the mend and seems like she's turned the corner on the way to getting well again. Dad had a stroke last year and doesn't get around that great so leaving them alone was out of the question. While mom was in with sepsis, we had to move them into another place. AND...In the middle of all of that we've been trying to get a remodel done at the office, it's just a running joke now with patients as to it ever getting done.
I'm just hoping there will still be some crappie in the Lakes and the boat will remember how to start when I finally get to go.

As long as you feel like you are putting one foot in front of the other every step you are taking... I'd say you are doing all you can do. I went through a good long time when not only did it seem like everything that could go wrong did go wrong; but everything was stacking up in layers such it seemed like one could never dig out from under it all. Nonetheless, it would do you a world of good to try to take some time for yourself... YOU MUST MAKE IT HAPPEN... if nothing else but to get out on the water; if only for a couple or few hours and take a couple of deep breaths and appreciate all that is good around you... and all that is well with your soul within you. I'm sure you know crappie fishing is awesome therapy for anything that may ail you.

Hoping your mom gets better. Sounds like she is on the upswing.
Like has been said, getting out and doing a little fishing clears the cobwebs, and will revitalize you. I know it might sound a little selfish, but there are times when you just need to get away, and be alone worrying about nobody but thinking which bait to use next.
Good luck on your journey, and hope to see you on the lake again.
