Has anybody heard anything about billy creek lately? Or know how the fishing is in the oxbows?
Fished the NAV in the rain yesterday. The water temperature was 75. The fish were holding near wood in four FOW next to breaklines. Fished many jigs colors, but Monkey Milk produced the best results. Spider rigging was the technique although we were taking a pole out of its respective holder and dipping the bait in the middle of the wood to produce strikes. We fished for an hour and half between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. before the lightning ran us off the water. We caught 14 and kept 8.
Good report Rick.
Slayer thanks for that report. I am 9000 miles away and think about the nav channel often.....big sigh. What depth did it drop off to at the break lines? Pretty great numbers for an hour and a half!
It dropped at five feet into 12 feet of water. This particular break was also located on the inside bend of the channel.
it sucks to just call me,NFA
Your not alone, I can almost use the NFA moniker myself after this weekend!
Same here. Glad to know its not all me
Hey but at least I ended my crappie drought yesterday even if it was only one! Still catching them dang sand bass though.
Was out yesterday went up in the first oxbow north of Afton didn't find anything there lots of boats so went up to the second one north and ended up with 11 nice ones
Slip cork what boat were you in? Nip and I was in the blue Stratus and NFA and johnnyshad were in the white Nitro. Had to have seen each other in there

NFA lol "I gave him that name" EB
sucks again.WELCOME TO THE NFA CLUB
Spider Rigged Saturday and although it was a slow bite, we managed 12 keepers or at least what I consider a keeper since the NAV has no size limit. The fish we caught were suspended above brush in 12 foot of water. Minnows were the ticket as no line baited with jigs caught fish. WT was 56; water level was above normal and stained. This was also the maiden voyage of my new Motorguide Xi5. What a difference maker!
It's a great motor.
Looking to put in at 3 forks and fish this weekend. Has anyone fished recently? Any tips? I have only fished it once ad that was last year on coody creek. Should I fish that direction toward Hopewell or head north towards ft Gibson? Any help would be great. Thanks and hope yall have been catching slabs!
sorry poohage, havent been keeping up.the best bet would be to go on down from coody to manard bayou.its on down just before the bend on the north side.there is also Boudinot creek just across from Hopewell ive actually had better luck there in the past couple weeks.be careful and go slow in both until you get the channel down as there are lots of stumps just under the surface.shoot me a text next time you go I may be headed out there myself.918-616-2083
Got on the water at 8am today and caught 5 nice ones and 2 dinks by 9am. Figured it was about to be a special day on the nav channel but I only caught one more crappie the rest of the day. Marked a lot of brush for next time and released the biggest three in my back yard- 12.5-13.5". Minnows were the ticket today in 7-9 fow. Water temps started at 73 and by 4pm were up to 80 degrees. I fished all kinds of lay downs and brush piles in 5-26 fow and saw loads of fish on the locator but when that sun came out they shut off like a switch today. Water was really murky and the shad were thick as always.
I have some okie CDC decals from Slab! Remind me at camp, if your there!
Dennis I will bring some back with me from camp if your not going,
I won't be there, so appreciate you bringing some back. I look for them on boats I see on the lake.
Went to Kaw this afternoon. Thought I saw you cruise into a cove, so I went in, and finally realized that it wasn't you. Did Ok on some pretty nice sand bass today. No crappie.
