Fished wister today. Caught several nice ones early in 8ft on wood, then they just shut off. Water is 3.5 ft high and murky, but very fish able. Water temp was 83. Beautiful lake certainly worth a visit.

Fished Wister for the first time on Saturday. My dad Gaston invited me to fish with him. Two other boats with several of his friends made the trip too. We had a good time and I was impressed with the lake and the size of the fish. We did pretty good for a hot August day, we finished the day with 21 keepers and caught another 5 or 10 throwbacks. Dad said the fishing was off a little from what it had been. Our 7 biggest fish weighed 1.2oz, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, and 1.9. I understand now what some of you have said about Wister and the size of the fish you catch there. I bet we'll have a blast there at our tournament this year. Thanks EB for telling us about a few good spots to fish.

Put in a long day at wister yesterday. Got up at 330 am, back home at 1130 pm. On the water from 730 am to 730 pm. Used minnows exclusively. They had to kick around in front of their noses for a few seconds before they would pick it up. Most of the bites were very subtle. Water temp was 83 to 88. Vis was all over the place anywhere from 2 feet to 4 inches depending on where you were at. Fished in 7 to 16 FOW on wood, most of the fish were from 2 to 7 feet deep. Did some casting and dragging with the minnows for the first time due to the fish holding shallow. They really liked to pick it up when the minnow would bump the wood. Kept 17 over 10 inches with some very respectable ones mixed in.
