Everything was great up to the moment the cop showed up. Wonder how he knew everyone was going to be there? And I didn't think state troopers would do boat inspections. This guy obviously went out of his way to pounce on the weigh in.

Stink i have been checked atleast 3 times by a state trooper at sardis. So yes they do checks right along with the lake patrol.

Lake Patrol and Highway Patrol or one in the same. Shame on them for spoiling a good time. I hope nobody in the parking lot got a ticket since technically, they weren't on the water or "operating" the boat.

I must be slipping on my ability to size someone up by their appearance. This guy looked like a Dudley Do-Right to me and I find is hard to believe he cut you some slack on the fire extinguisher. You just bought that boat in January, right? Or was it in December?

Sure glad he did, hope no one else got a fine.

And I wondered about all the boats being on dry land and not in the water when he done his checks. I'm sure there's some clause in state law that allows them to do this legally, but where do they draw the line?

Can they do a boat inspection on the side of the road? How about on any public property? The boat ramp at Crowder is technically public property and the roadway falls under the jurisdiction of a state trooper or any other law enforcement officer, but the boats were high and dry.

Maybe I'm just getting cranky in my old age...........lol.:p
