Fishing w/ 1st-timers (successfully) is always fun, especially if they're kids. Fished next to a young lad last night at Ft. Cobb. His grandpa said the boy was a very good fisherman who cleans his own fish, but he struck out last night. Several guys put fish in his basket though, so he got to put his filet knife to use after all.
Nip, we have had the best 3 or 4 years of spawn I can ever remember up here. You can catch hundreds of 4 inch fish, hundreds of 7 inch fish, hundreds of 10 inch fish and hundreds of 12 inch fish. Oologah is going to be awesome for the next several years. I hope we have another flood this year, if that is what is making us have good spawns.

Common sense isn't always that common!![]()
I'd like to see Oologah go to a 10" minimum. Wouldn't hurt to knock the creel count down to 25 either. Would also like to see the one over 30" Blue Cat restriction removed. They're eating too many Crappie.
Reaper, Where Fish come to Fry
If oologah goes to a 10 inch minimum RIP Oologah. Will emd up sucking bad like tenkiller and claremore. There will get to be way too many small ones. Big O hasnt had problems awesome spawns in recent years

Grenada has a 12 1/8" minimum and it has done fine. You get 2 lb + toads unless they get a chance to grow.

Grenada also doesnt have a high abundance of small ones. Its a completely different lake. Thats like saying lake fork has a 24' slot and huge bass so Keystone should start so they can catch huge bass

Ledge can't you Wally and the Arkansas and Canada boys do better about managing Slimy? That barn project may have to be put on hold until you get that population stabilized.
Had another fun day today. It was a gorgeous day! Today they preferred BG Baby Shad monkey milk, and Bonehead slim stick in salt and pepper. Very little wind. Caught lots of 8-10" fish. Fish were active anywhere from 11-19'.![]()
