Johnny C. is an Idaho feller here on a two year mission trip with his wife. Said he got tired of wearing a white shirt every day so on his day off he didn't. I tried to talk him into new duds but nothing doing. He was a good sport about it til we got out of the wind. I guess the sun doesn't get hot all the way up in Idaho?

Think I figured out this sideways picture issue. Throwing in a freebie from my mission on Negros Island-Philippines just to make sure. Endangered Golden Flying Fox or Huge Bat!

I don't know how the rest of you are faring out there in the crazy heat, but I am really struggling to get fish to bite (especially fish over 11"). I feel like I've tried everything in my boat to get them to bite. I even trolled a crankbait a little today. I have had no problem finding fish (see attachments). I didn't catch a single fish on either of those piles! I've tried minnows, big jigs, micro jigs, and everything in between. I've cast and dragged and vertical jigged. What's the secret to getting these fish to bite lately? What am I not doing that I should be (other than wait until Fall fishing)? I did catch 45 yesterday (Zeke Anderson helped with the first 15 or so that morning), but they really didn't bite well until 5-7pm. Thoughts? Suggestions?Name: IMG_20160801_133114746.jpg

Judging by your picture it appears to be shad, but I am also not used to looking at lowrance. Shad tend to cover up my piles on keystone sometimes in the summer deep and I'll fish and fish and not catch any, until I snag a shad

For me on brush piles it's a numbers game, keep moving, the more water-brush I fish the better my chances of finding the really good piles.

I know my finder. Those are crappie. The cloud to the left on the first pic, those are shad. The cloud above the pile on the second picture are also shad. Normally if I see piles like those, I can fish them all day long and catch fish all day long. Just not lately. Thus, the conundrum.
