I wanted to let everyone know that Dean at WINGANON BAIT AND TACKLE is having his big crappie tournament again. I signed up today. It is for the months of March, April, May, and the three month aggregate. Cost is $5 per month and $5 for the aggregrate. There is $100 added per month and $200 added for the aggregate by Lakeside State Bank, Chocolates Taxidermy and Nabitak. It pays 70% to 1st, 30% to 2nd and 3rd receives a $25 gift certificate to Nabitak Bait in Claremore for each month and the aggregate.

Dean has always supported our tournament trail, go by and sign up. While you're in there tell him you're from Crappie.com.

Took advantage of the beautiful weather and hit a few brush piles. The fish were in 22 - 25 fow. I was fishing 14 - 17 ft deep. Blk and pink, shad, blue and white all caught fish. Ended the day with 34. The fish were chasing shad and full of them.

Got a chance to go Saturday with my buddy Dudley. Got on the water around 1:00 and fished till sundown. Moved around a little bit trying to find them. Got lucky and found a couple of spots that were holding good numbers. Counted 37 keepers when we emptied the live wells at the ramp. Never caught any big fish, but had a few at 12 to 13 inches. Had to go to deeper brush today, caught em in 20 to 28 ft, fishing 3 ft off bottom. Caught all the fish on solid black and black and chartreuse hair jigs.

Was able to sneak out to Oologah with my son for a couple hours this afternoon. Haven't chased crappie in over a year but put several in the boat out of one of my favorite spots. Even caught one of those mohawk crappie with a war wound. Figured he was quite the survivor so he went back.

Not many of you have signed up for the Winganon Bait and Tackle big fish tournament yet. That is pretty good added money. Stop by and tell Dean you saw this on Crappie.com. He is a great supporter of our tournaments and carries a great selection of tackle. The BBQ is pretty good also.

Finally managed to fish Oo with my old H.S. fishing buddy, Dennis today. Hit 8-10 piles to find 2 that held crappie willing to bite. We found fish from 15-27 fow but the deeper water produced best from 12-2:30 during which time I got bit nearly every drop on anything with orange or pink. Ranger would be proud that on this windless day I left the anchors in the boat and slalomed around 4 buoys all day- wasn't always pretty. We caught 71 ( pitiful that I counted dinks and all I know) and cleaned 40 over 10". Dennis took 15 to cook for an old laid up friend and these are the rest. Not much size to them 10-13" but my best day in the last 19 months! (-:
