Good to see you Boss Hog. I had 20 that day, not very good for 9 hours fishing. The males are starting to change color and females are heavy with eggs. All my fish were caught on jigs, males on the bank females in 4-8 fow. I did have a 1.87lb female and 2 more over 1 1/2. I ran into Reaper yesterday morning, when I passed by he had 1 and I had zero. I fished for over 2 hours before I caught my first crappie. I ended up with 14 nice fish by 2 o'clock, same pattern as yesterday. Pretty slow for 7 hours fishing. When the weather warms back up it should get better.

My buddy Danny and I hit the big O today and had a pretty good day. We brought home 31 keepers and caught some good fish. We had a 2.27lb, 1.96, 1.76, and several more over 1.50. We caught the majority on jigs, but caught some on minnows too. Caught the fish in 10ft or less. Fished from 10:30 to sundown. Water temps were 54 when we started and warmed up to 59 late in the day.

Nice fish Whisperer! Would you say this years spawn is better than the 2012 spawn?

Thanks guys, Fishers it looks like its gonna be a good spawn this year. No major flooding rains, the lakes close to normal level, and the fish look really healthy. Lord knows it should be our turn to have a good year, we've sure had our fair share of off years. I know some of the guys have been doing really good for the last several weeks, and I bet its gonna get really good later this month.

Hey guys, does anybody else think my buddy Danny from Broken Bow looks like OkieDon? There's a picture of my buddy Danny further up this page. I can't wait to meet OkieDon someday, sure seems like a great guy. I bet if both of these guys were fishing together it would make you look twice to see who was who.

Been off on vacation and I've been fishin with my buddy Danny at least a few hours each day this week. Fished Monday evening and caught 14 keepers with a 1.92 as the largest fish. Fished Tuesday evening and caught 12 keepers. Went again Wednesday evening and caught 25 keepers. Monday's and Tuesday's catches are together in the first picture and Wednesday's catch is in the second picture. The third picture is a fish I caught with a wierd looking deformed tail. Got lucky too and caught my 4th black crappie from Oologah on one of days I've fished since Saturday. It was a black nose crappie with a black stripe down its nose and back. Caught all the fish using jigs and minnows, jigs outproduced the minnows each day. Caught all the fish in 10ft or less.

Nice looking fish! I haven't been out crappie fishing in nearly a year and didn't do worth a darn it oologah last year. Glad to see fish being caught. I'm going to give it a go this weekend. Would you be willing to share if you were on the northern end or southern end? When i fish oologah I tend to fish redbud and blue creek alot sometimes Spencer but rarely venture north of the bridge.
