I went solo again and caught 19 keepers and another 15 throwbacks. The crappie wanted jigs today and almost all of them wanted it moving. Caught most of them when they got hungry late in the evening. I backed off a brush pile and casted a jig to get the bites. Sure was fun gettin that thump you get from casting a jig. Water temp was 50 degrees today, still a little cold for the fish to be real aggresive. Most of the fish gave the jig a good thump, but there were some where I just felt something heavy, or saw my line move. The fish wanted it moving, but I had to reel super slow to get bit. I used orange weedless jig heads with a licorice Bobby Garland baby shad and chartreuse crappie nibblets. Biggest fish was 15 inches.
