Meatdragger, you better get a BIG stick...your daughter is a cutie! Keep those boys away as long as possible! :D Shoot, I still have trouble picking up a fish and holding it. She is way ahead of me.

I put in at spencer creek yesterday and tried to find some brushpiles... no luck with that so we went backinto some backwater areas of the cove where the lake level had submerged a good deal of brush and timber... caught a couple 1lb crappies, a few small channel cats, and a drum... we were using minnows in about 6' of water. We had a godo time and want to come back to the area soon.

Hey guys, new to the site and it looks great, serious fisherman here in Oklahoma.
I just moved to Tulsa to get back to school and work on some graduate degrees last fall so I am getting the lay of the land this summer. I have fished a lot up north, but have not fished for crappie or bass much, caught a lot of walleye
I was wondering about Oolagah lake, I have found the brush pile maps and I was wondering if any of you slip bobber the piles or how do you guys work the piles, hover over them and drop down with a rig or what?
Thanks guys,
Eric

hi dnchance,
Did the the GPS coordinates not lead you to the correct piles or where they off any. I finally got all the coordinates that you put up for download into my fishfinder but I havent got to test it yet.

I'm sure they were good coords. I just have never tried to do that before. The maps I had on my iPhone wouldn't zoom in far enough and the slowness of a 30# thrust motor made it kind of frustrating to keep looking for them. I'm also not all that great at interpreting my sonar.
So the combination of my inexperience and lack of real maps/gps equipment made it
hard.

Thats cool. I was surprised to see how many piles are along the spencer creek area once I uploaded that GPX file to my fish finder. I went out last night to go fishing, when I left the house it looked as if the storms passed the area on the Radar. Boy was I wrong. As soon as I got to the ramp, the storm of the century hit. I didnt even put my boat out. I basically drove all the way to spencer creek and back to Catoosa. Will try another day.
