me and my girlfriend was able to make it out today (or should i say yesterday since it is technically monday as i type this) from about 11-4. fished at hawthorn bluff at the fishing dock. caught about 15, kept 9. fished with minnows but there was a guy that came later and was catching on jigs. bite was alright, kept getting snagged and losing my minnows though:mad:. tried throwing some spinners for some sandies but nada on those. all of the fish were full of eggs, some were bulging like whoa. all in all a fun day, except i need to find someone to help me clean em all at the end of the day :p

Anyone know who it was that caught the 5.4 lb Crappie at Winganon ???????

Sounds like another "FISH STORY" to me. Not only would it be a lake record it would be the State record. The state record Black crappie is 4-10 and the state record White crappie is 4-15.

Think about this. We have a big fish thread on here and our members have caught tens of thousands of fish yet we don't have a pic posted of a fish over 3 pounds. My buddies and I have caught over 3000 fish since Dec. 2010 and maybe have 5-6 that weighed over 2 lbs, with the biggest being 2-5. A 2 pound fish isn't common and a 3 pound fish is very rare and a 5 pounder has never been seen in Oklahoma.

I hope it is true but will have to see it.

It would be a world record white crappie. The standing is 5.3 lbs. I wonder what the 20 1/2" fish Bill caught would have gone?

HHHHMMMMMMMM, common sense tells me that if there was a 5 pound crappie caught it would be in the newspaper and on ODWC web site. I don't buy it.
