Great report Lazinback! I am headed out in the morning. Haven't been on Oologah in over 3 weeks. Gonna see if they have moved from where I left them. I told them to stay put until I came back to get them, but sometimes they don't listen. If they are not there, I am going to look for them some where in Talala Creek. It sounds like that is where they are at.

Fished Spencer for about 4 hours. Bite was slow, had a hard time finding fish wanting to bite. Fighting the wind was also an issue. Caught lots of dinks. Brought home 12 for dinner ranging from 9-12 inches. All in all a good afternoon on the lake.
Glad to hear you did good okfishingfanatic !!! Told ya my minnows were wanting to get out and play !! Stop in when you get a min. Got that stuff for your soon to be here little one :) !!!!! FINALLY ,,,,,, I REMEMBERED :):)
I made it out on the water today around 11 and it was very windy out of the NE! I was forced to fish north and east banks in Talala creek. There were several other boats already fishing when I got there. Most were anchored up on brush piles. I went to a brush pile in 20 fow, it had a few shad around but not many. I caught a 12 inch fish then didn't get another bite. I went around 2 other boats and kept moving until I marked another small brush pile with shad. I caught 5 really good fish and 1 dink. The bite just quit. The wind had layed quite a bit and I was able to move to a south bank. I found a brush pile in 22 fow that was loaded with shad. The bite was never fast but it was steady all afternoon. I probably caught 100 fish, I could have kept a limit, but only kept 11 inch fish or bigger. I came home with 24 fish 11-13 inches. I didnt catch any big fish today. I caught all my fish on Bobbby Garland baby shad. The best colors were blk/pink, electric chicken, and cajun cricket.

What area of the lake would ya'll guys recommend to someone in a small aluminum v-hull boat with limited distance capability thinking about fishing Oologah for the first time?
Spencer creek has some good spots close to the ramp. So does Talala and Blue creek. Depeneds on what your definition of "limited distance capability" is. You could even put out at allens point and fish the bridge rip rap.
Thanks for the report Odie. I haven't been out in several weeks, but I'm sure wanting to go soon. Sounds like you had a good day. Hope to see you on the lake soon. Holler at me when you get some free time.
Thanks for the info fanatic, Talala creek area looks pretty good to me for a first trip. I might try to make it up there this weekend if the wind isn't going to be too bad.
Be careful in Talala Creek. There are stumps everywhere and very shallow flats as well.
