Went out friday from 1-6. Only caught 2 fish. Spencer was frozen, all brush piles didn't produce. It seemed like every boat in the state was on oologah. Every spot had multiple boats. I tried ledges and flats and piles. Nothing was producing fish.

Hoping to give it anothe try in the morning..if I can get out.

I had the same kind of day yesterday. Found LOTS of fish hanging around the brush piles but could not get them to bite. Tried lots of jig colors that have been working within the last two weeks. Black/Red/Chart, Black/White/Chart, a number of others. I even tried minners, nothing worked for me. Less than 10 days ago I was able to slip-bob at 14 feet deep between/above/around brush piles at Spencer using those colors of jigs and catch crappie like crazy!

There are tons of fish in the channel (60 fow) but they are suspended at 40 feet down. I didn't try them with a rod but I do have 10 jugs out with hooks at 40 feet down. Caught one 32 inch blue, and he was tasty!!

We went out today from daylight to around 1:30. We only managed 10 keepers and another 10 or 15 dinks. We must have been fishin the wrong spots, or the crappie were just not in the mood. We didn't run around a lot my buddy wasn't feeling good. It did do us some good to get out on the water and enjoy the warm weather. Hope some of you other fellas found some fish and had a good day.

I had a slow day on Saturday too. Only caught 8 and threw 3 of those back. I found a lot of shad but only managed to catch a couple that way down by the island at Redbud. The rest came from Spencer Creek, about 2 feet off the bottom in a brushpile in 22fow. I tried the area in Blue Creek where I caught a bunch 3 weeks ago and struck out. I did a lot of driving around and looking and tried a lot of different techniques, including spider rigging minnows through some shad schools and around brush. I talked to a guy that said he caught about 20. The others I talked to said they were having a slow day. I can't help but think that with all the people on the water, somebody had to get into a good school of them.

I caught about 20 from 3:30 till 5:30, all 11" - 14" suspended over brush in 14' feet. Most fish were just 4' below the surface suspended over the brush.

Friday we got on the water at 945 and had a 3 person limit of 111 at 145. We fished 2 brush piles in 20 -25 fow and the fish were 14-17 feet deep. We caught them on a variety of jig colors but some variety with pink or blue was the best. The size was really good also, over half of them were over 12 inches with a few 14 inchers. The biggest was 1lb 12 ozs. Here is a pic of my 37.

I met Eufaula Boy Saturday morning at Conoco, to finally get a day on the water fishing together. We started at 815 and fished some of the places we had been catching them and struggled until noon. We had 10 in the livewell when we made a move to a different area. Another friend of mine joined us at 1230. The first 2 piles we fished were just ok and we put 21 more in the livewell. At 330 we moved to a different pile, that I haven't fished in 2 years, and started catching them like crazy. When it slowed a little about 5 we moved to another pile about 100 yds away, that I haven't fished in 2 years. We caught them there like crazy also. My buddy Nick caught his biggest crappie ever on the last pile we fished. It was a 16 incher that weighed 2lbs 5 ozs on EB's digital scales. We had several fish over 13in. and quite a few over 14. We ended the day with 93, with 62 coming in the last 2 1/2 hours. We left them biting at 545 because of their long drive home. Our best colors were blue/white and blk/pink. A great day on the water shared with 2 great friends. Can't wait to do it again. Here are some pics of the catch.
