I haven't had time to fish this week. With the weather nice, there might be as many as 75 boats try to put into Talala Creek today. My friend fishes
Talala Creek daily and his report is that it's still extremely slow. I've heard that Blue Creek and Spencer brush piles have been decent in 10-12' of water.

I will have to agree that Talala is extremely slow. Went Saturday morning and it was very slow. Then moved to Spencer but we were fighting the wind the whole time and could stay around a brush pile long enough to fish it.

Went Saturday fished midlake and caught 15, had 8 good fish. Water temp was still 58 and climbed to 60 later in the day. Fished from 9:30 to 2:30. The bite was slow, but it was better than it has been. I did about the same the weekend before, but spent more time to catch the same amount. Like the guys said the spawn is about a month late after that epic winter. I should have fished some warmer spawning banks, but I was dieing to fish a brushpile I had put in a month earlier. It made it worth the trip to catch some good fish off the pile. Caught em off piles in 10ft and 15ft. If the wind ever slows down we'll see some good reports soon.

Question for the experts: Where do you think we are on the spawn on Oologah? Is it over? Best still yet to come? Went out Sunday morning with my 3 kids trying to scare up a few crappie. Had a time trying to fight the wind. We didn't do too good and judging by the reports from others I talked to, it seems like I wasn't the only one.

looks to me like spawn has a way to go. Saturday, we kept 10 over 10 in. largest was 14.25 at 1.5 lbs. Eggs were small and very yellow. One other female about a lb with eggs ready to go. Just need to wind to ease up so I can fish

The wife and I started our fishing day, 5-3-14, at Lightning Creek. I caught a very small sandbass... We fished there for about 2 hours. We had enough of that and decided to go to Eastside and fish the creek... We ended up keeping 7 really nice ones. Only 2 females in these. Their eggs weren't ready yet. We caught these from about 2:00-4:00 pm. We tried jigs and a couple small spinners but caught them on Rosies roughly 18 inches to 2 ft deep in about 4 fow... We didn't limit out by any means but the time I got to spend with my wife was worth it...

Thanks for the report Smoky. We started our day on Sunday 5/4 at Eatside in the creek. Fished minnows at various depths... no bites, no fish, no nothing. I agree time spent with the family is worth it. I had my 3 kids with me and we had a great time. But, if I want to keep them wanting to go fishing with the old man, I've gotta start producing. Thinking about heading back to Eastside ramp this evening for a few hours after work.

I'm thinking about heading up to Eastside shortly to give it another try...

Is the Eastside ramp a pretty decent ramp for a typical bass boat? I had heard the bottom end is cobbled together and a little rough.
