Welcome Richard! I have fished that spillway via-boat access from Coal creek and caught alot of fish there everytime. Need to drive there and find how to get to it by foot. Have you done any good in Mac. Lake on crappie?

    Default Lake MacAlester

Lake McAlester has some BIG crappie in it. The winter months are the best fishing off the dam. The Dock has been kinda slow lately

Fished the marina Monday...fished 4'-6' with only 5 keepers on elec. chicken & butterbelly's one guy did fair on bluegrass, 4 guy's using minnows had around 15 nice ones. Tough 2 days but the week before that they caught alot of nice size black & whites mixed all @ 3'-4'.

I am looking for a fishing report on the lake. I have to be at Porum for a meeting on Thursday morning and I should have some time to fish. Does anyone have a suggestion as to depth and location on North end of the lake?

Has it thawed? Bride says we can go fishing if the boat is not froze in or go to the OKC Home and Garden Show .
Anybody know the status at Jason's?

    Default Report Monday

Hello everyone, I know it has been awhile since I have posted. Between football season, getting married, and refereing basketball games I haven't had a chance to go until yesterday. I was able to take my wife and her parents and we caught 64 keepers from 12:00-5:00. We had several fish from 1.25-1.5lbs. We caught them spider-rigging the creek channel with minnows in 14-18ft of water fishing 6-12ft deep. The bite was hot and heavy from 12:00-2:00 we had 52 in 2 hours, then they slacked off a little. I couldn't figure out if they had went shallower or what, but it has been a awhile I a little rusty. I was just tickled to get to take my wife and her parents on a beautiful day. If I were to write an article about this trip it would be titled "Thawed Out Crappie" LOL Good Fishing EB

Thanks, EB. I may try to get down there Thurs. or Fri. I have to work tomorrow at the fire station. Sounds like it was a good day on the water. Glad you were able to get back out on the water and knock off the "rust". It sure doesn't sound like you were rusty to me. You better get all the fishing in you can before baseball starts. If I get down there I'll post the report.
