Hit some ripraps on 69 on Saturday. Got there about 9 and put a few slabs in the livewell before the rain came. It stopped and we hit some standing timber in the back of a few creeks with no luck. Rained again and this time it didn't stop so we pulled out about noon with 9 keepers and threw back probably double that in dinks. Used White/Chart and Black/Chart beavertails. One guy in our gang used minnows and did almost as well as we did.

Before coming in, we put out 5 of those water noodle juglines and hauled in 5 catfish including a 6lb Flathead in about 30 minutes.

All in all, not a bad few hours if you didn't mind getting soaked.

    Default current Lake conditions??

What did all the rain we recently got do to the lake conditions. According to the Corps site it's at pretty normal depth. However, after living there for about three years I know you can't go by them. Muddy? rising?

Just trying to decide where to go for a few days next week. Might try there for slabs or go somewhere else for trout, smallies.

It probably came up 6" and is steady now, murky north and stained down south. But nothing like the Grand river chain of lakes.

    Default Weekend Report!!

Hello everyone, During one of my most busy times of year, I was able to get out and fish a little Sunday evening. We fished from 2-6 and had 20 keepers! We spider-rigged for the first 2 hours and had 3 fish, then hit some timber with one bite, last we got on some rip-rap with poles in our hands fishing beavertails in 7-8ft of water and had some good fish! You had to get the baits right off the bottom to get hit! If you could feel a rock every now and then that's when you would catch a good fish! The fish seemed to be spread out, one or two here and there! Good fishing! EB

    Default Weekend Report!!

Hello, I thought I would post a report from yesterday. We fished from 10-5 and only had 21 keepers. It was tough with the currents and the wind not cooperating. We finally got on some fish late in the evening on some ledges and channel breaks in the mouth of the creek. We were spider-rigging minnows in 8-13ft fishing 8-10ft deep. It was hard to find good water color, most of the water was still muddy. With the corps pulling water it will be a little while before things settle down again with no more rain for awhile. Good fishing EB

    Default Lake McAlester

Fished below the spillway last night caught 15 keepers and tons of sand bass. Went back this morning and caught 2 keepers. The water went down a foot or so, but I imagine they are still in the area. Thinking of Hickery Pt this afternoon. Any reports?
