Fished at our dock this weekend. Wasn't expecting much on Friday, but actually had a good day keeping 18 in about 3 hours. Using minnows in 18FOW and fishing anywhere from 5-9' deep. Went back on Saturday and only added 5 more to the basket in a couple of hours. It was much colder on Saturday and my make-shift wind block didn't do much to block the NE winds - I'm more set up to block the SW winds.

Anyone have any suggestions on where I might can get kids on some fish this week. They're on spring break and I took a vacation to try our luck. We do have a boat too. Thanks for any advice.

Crowder park is kid friendly....... even has a long walkway to a floating dock set up for kids.

Started at Blue creek today, never saw water so muddy. Kept driving south til I got to arrowhead, much cleaner. Marked some piles for later but no takers. Stopped by Fountainhead just to check clarity. Nadda. Tuff day... I don't like this lake!

Fished Saturday and today at my friend's dock here at Arrowhead Estates. only had 4 keepers, but they're nice crappie. I watched one of those self-help guru's being interviewed by Charlie Rose the other night on television and he was expressing all the ways to meditate and relax. Got him self all worked up trying to convince Charlie and the audience what he did was note worthy, and heck, maybe it is. But I know when I'm fishing and not even getting a bite, I'm doing my own fashion of meditation. I can't think of any better way to relax and let my old mind empty out the trash.

Caught these fish on jigs about 8 feet down with very little movement. They are biting softly and you have to be on your toes to time your jerk just right. I guess a couple of times I was just too relaxed..........lol

Thanks for info stink. May hit the crowder area sometime this week. My dad and I fished the north end today and managed to catch 1 catfish and 1 sandbass. Lots of baitfish found but nothing that would bite.

Fished north end today. Kept 16 crappie and 2 sandbass. Threw back another 15 to 20 small crappie. Very finicky bite. Just nibble nibble and run with it.
