Fished off our dock on Sunday in Rock Creek Cove. Not a nibble. WT was 51. Left the rods in rod holders -- came back 3 hours later and not a single minnow was missing.

Fished crowder, blocker, and rock creek areas yesterday. Caught lots of throw backs and cleaned 45. Technique was rod in hand with best colors being blk/chrt , blk/pink. Most fish were caught at 10ft in 12-14 fow. Wt was from 50-55 deg.

Water temp is going to have to go up at least 7-8 degrees before the crappie even think about coming in shallow in preparation to spawn. This weekend the weather is supposed to be warmer and that will be a start on warming the water some. I still think we are weeks away from the spawn, but like I said before, I hope I'm wrong.

Long day at crowder and surrounding areas. Water was 47.5 to start and 52 in the afternoon. Fish are definitely not in spawn mode yet, had to work for them and they are hitting soft. Best depth was 15 feet deep on breaks from 15 to 18 FOW. Caught 15 with a couple of big fat sows in the mix. Some fish are in there but just not very active yet. Last year at this time it was loaded with fish and they were smacking it hard, but it was about 10 degrees warmer. Today I spider rigged, vertically jigged, and cast a roadrunner. I used minnows and jigs and minnow and jig combos. Everything caught a few fish but the best was vertical jigging super slow with jig and minnow combo.

Do you think this rain will lock their lips for a while? It is supposed to be a warm rain tomorrow and in the 60s Friday and Saturday and in the 70s Sunday.
