Okay lets not be talking about minners it took me three years to get where Iam at , just think if I keep going at this rate no telling where I might be in another three. I enjoy reading all the post. I try to get down to Eufaula in the Spring great lake.

Ranger I see you are on the Pro Staff for Crazy Angler. I was able to get one of his custom jig molds before he stoped making them. Havent got to use it much, but with the price of plastic you have to really be into it to tie your own jigs.

I was in the same boat (pardon the pun), but your statement sums it up for me as well. I want to learn everything I can and try new techniques. I am no longer a jig snob, I guess, but still a jig fisherman at heart. Nevertheless, I am no longer ashamed to buy and use minners ... EB has forever corrupted me and, if you're not careful, he'll do the same to you!

In all seriousness, go if you can. You will enjoy it.

Thanks Winger for the encouragment. I plan to have the time of my life but just being on the water accounts for it. When a man or woman quits learning its time to sit in the rocker and I don't have time for that right now due to there being crappie still swimming in our waters..and to be honest thats the samething I thought when they started a muzel loader season years ago during bow season..I wouldn't smoke pole hunt cause I was a die hard bow hunter. Well now I do it all. There comes a time when you have to use different methods to accomplish the goals you have set for yourself so I'm all yours EB for a lesson or 2...lol.......Ranger

Lol Im loving reading these post this morning! I just decided that I was going to be versatile for one main reason. If someone called and ask me about a technique I could give them good feedback because I had tried it! The debate will go on and on about Minnows or Jigs! I have tried Minnows, Jigs, Minnows on Jigs, Spinners on Minnows, Shad, perch, and Goldfish and everyone of these baits caught fish! Then the debate Spider-rigging or rod in hand? I do both and love both techniques! The goal is getting those slabs in the livewell! Whatever it takes! But my all time favorite is catching them with a cork EB

Ranger, whenever your ready! I can show you. Give me a call we can get out this weekend!

DonBro, Yes Robert at Crazy Angler Tackle puts out an awesome plastic bait that I believe in and use. He has given his baits for our Crappie.Com tournaments this year as door prizes and even some of the new 2 3/8" size baits as well. He is very interested in our tournaments here in Oklahoma and is keeping a close eye on this forum for updates. And yes I have been asked to be on his Pro Staff along with Doug Owens (deerhunterodie)...Ranger
