Hit my buddy's fishing dock at 4:30 and immediately starting catching nice crappie using minnows. Steady bite until they quit at dark and came home with over 20 nice pan sized crappie. Haven't cleaned them, they're going on ice til tomorrow, but I'm sure some of the big females have eggs. Caught them at a depth of around 8-10 feet with a very, very light bite. One large crappie had caught itself and was on the line for around 20 minutes before I noticed a little movement. Checked the line and it felt like nothing was on, started bringing it up to put fresh minnows on, low and behold, nice fat crappie surfaced. I felt like this evening would be good since the barometer was dropping and a storm is rolling in for late tonight and tomorrow.

That's what I was thinking today. Made it down about 11 pm and hit the rip rap at Coal Creek about noon (muddy), then went to Blocker Bridge (good visibility) and finished out at the Cemetery at Crowder with only 2 very light bites all day long (missed 'em both). Used Minnows and a variety of jig colors. I fished anywhere from 2' to 10' deep below a slip cork. Couldn't buy a bite today!!

Don thats what happened to me along the rip rap at Rock Creek...MUDDY...never got a hit...but moved out to the mouth and found a few small pc's of wood and they were on it..and then also hit the rocky edges of the islands in 10' to 14' dow and anywhere I could find just a piece of wood I got a few strikes..We ended up with 23 but that was Tuesday..They wanted it slow and hanging with just a slight movement of the rod tip and as deep inside or against the wood as possible.....Ranger

    Clock,
I believe tomorrow with a north breeze and cooler if you can find some clearer water outside of the creek area would be your best bet. So far not enough rain to have a really bad run off...But a day on the water is better than a day working..So if I was working tomorrow shucks I would certainly be fishin......Ranger

Clock, I'm glad it was't just me. We fished probably 7 hrs with only 4 - ( 3 at 11" and one good fish 1.5 lb. female ) all at the mouth of Rock Creek on wood and rock piles.

We fished yesterday and had 22 keepers from 2-5. We were spider- rigging bluffs on the north end of the lake in 12-18ft fishing 10-12 ft. It was really cold yesterday. I believe if the sun would have come out we would have doubled our catch. EB
