    Default Hickory Point

I was at Hickory Point on Saturday, and the only trouble I had was finding a parking spot... Was able to launch my 17 and half footer with no problem. Also had some big bass boats launching. Just watch the stretch heading from the launch to the creek as water is 2-3 feet in most of the area.

Good time to check out all the structure that's normally located in 4-5 feet of water as it is high and dry right now. I'd motor slowly unless you're in the creek channel.

Fished with my 5 year old so didn't catch too many fish, but he had fun which is all that matters. Talked to quite a few people and heard everything from 30-40 per boat to nothing. It was pretty windy out there that day and cool in the morning.

    Default Sunday 2-27-11 Crappie fun!

Kept and cleaned 25 on Sunday the 27th off my boat dock on north end of lake on minnows. 12' of water at 6' deep. Only a couple under 10" that swallowed hooks. Included a 13 1/2" that weighed in at 1lb 8oz. (Took a pic of that one with my daughter). Several around 11" to 12". They hit from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm in a mad rush. Ran out of minnows and had to head back to town or I could have kept going. At least the Crappie think its spring!

We fished Saturday and had 34 keepers. The bite for us was slow all day, but we had some big fish. We had one that was 2.0 lbs on the button. We were jigging the new X2 yum beaver tails in 7-9 fow fishing 3-6 foot deep. Orange/Chart was our best colors! We couldn't get bit shallow all day. EB

Absolutely Beautiful! I love it when the weather is nice enough for my daughters (3) to be able to hang out with Dad on the water. Hopefully when they're dating age, their version of a fun date will include a pocket full of jigs and a bucket of minnows.

We made a trip to our favorite lake in Ok:D We fished sat & sun with Barry Morrow. I had my two youngest sons out sat & had a great time. Then wife & I went sunday and had another great time & the bite seemed better. Our best bait was Lindy blk/chart hair jigs & org/chart beaver tail & a dance jig.... Good seeing you again EB. We caught over a 100 fish for the weekend.Thumbs Up
