Glad you guys had a great trip. Also glad they stayed put for you as well. It's an awesome bite that we have been waiting for. Like this bite hands down over the spawn. Last 2 trips has been on fire and dictated by wind like most here in Oklahoma. Thursday's trip which was windy from the north produced only 38 keepers since we were very very limited where we could fish. Friday's trip was one of those magical times on the water where we caught well over 200 and after culling all day ended with cleaning 60 really good fish......Ranger Attachment 239106Attachment 239107
ranger when you say dictated by wind and limited on where you can fish, what do you mean by that? if the wind is coming out the south, where do you fish? thanks.
Sooner with high north winds or south which ever it may be there are only a few banks on any body of water that will shield you somewhat from it. Those banks may not be exactly where you want or need to be fishing but usually you can catch some numbers. South Winds you will want to fish those south banks, behind rip rap road banks, or in east west creeks. Just the reverse on a north wind. Unless you have better and bigger batteries than I have. Most times early in the year I'm in creeks as I will be again as summer gets closer and you can always find those places to get out of the wind. Right now I'm fishing main lake areas where it's more open on a summertime or post spawn pattern. The fish are coming off their spawning beds and staging on main lake points and natural banks. They are hungry and ready to eat after a long spawning season. The wind certainly dictates where you can fish this time of year.......Ranger

Good fishing around Crowder right now. Double dipping rock bluff banks in 5-8 foot of water. Todd Huckabee pro series rods and beaver bottom baits in Ashdown smack down color. No real hogs but all nice eaters.
Wife and I hit Eufaula yesterday around the mouth of Gaines double dippin black and pink and black and chart. 3" beaver tails in 5-7'on rock and gravel banks , caught over 200 kept about 40 pigs .
Last 4 days I don't how many total we caught but the bite has been good been avging between 60-80 keepers on a good day and 30-40 on a slow day. Usaaully around 15-20 over 12 inches. Biggest fish from 1.75-1.90. EB
