I'm getting ready to go in a little while and if I don't forget, I'll give a report later this evening.

Went right after I made the post earlier today, didn't get a bite. But went back this evening and the males were being caught along the bank and also in shallow water along the walkway to the dock. I would say its the beginning here for the spawn.

Fished Mill Creek (south from boat ramp) last night and today.
Last night (Friday) I was finding nice fish right on bank and near any wood, only fished a couple of hours and caught 4 nice ones and lost about 6 on minnows.
They were just sucking the minnows. Right before I left I decided to try the strike king bitsy minnow (1/4oz sq bill in minnow / shad color) I caught 2 of my 4 on it in about 5 minutes and lost 2 more then had to leave, it was almost dark. It was very active, lots of fish in bank.

Went back this morning for 5 hours (10-3:00), not prime time but still should have been good, nice cloud cover, wind not too bad, and the sun came out about 2:00. I found dinks on bank and they were scattered and hard to catch. I caught a couple of decent fish on 2 very faithful stumps. I talked to a number of other fishermen and they also were having it TOUGH. Everybody siad the same thing I was seeing. WHAT HECK they were biting yesterday?

So again the front pushed them back off bank or gave them a semi-serious case of lockjaw.

I haven't given up, it it's not raining too hard in the morning I'll be going back and see if they feel better.

Good luck guys and dolls, be safe and HAVE FUN !!!!!

I caught a nice mess yesterday. Definitely thumping the jig. Hope this rain doesn't mess it up. Caught probably 50-50 male/female in the rock creek area.
