Rough day yesterday. Fish are in transition. Off the piles and scattered everywhere. Fished crowder and way up rock creek, Bugtussle and way up coal. In the creeks the males tails are turning black and they are shore bound. Long day caught 15-20 mostly small males. Only 2 decent fish. Josh calls me up mid-day, "So how you doin down there?", me- "grumble, grumble, fish scattered", Josh- "Oh really, you should have come to keystone, we're killin em"I hate it when I choose the wrong lake.
How slow will Eufaula be tomorrow with this front? I seem to not be able to to catch a break in the weather. I coach in Arkansas and my spring break is this next week with not so favorable conditions. Lot of windy days ahead this next week.

Don't know if you picked the wrong lake or not. Seems like Josh could go out in the backyard to a goldfish pond and catch a mess of crappie. Believe the young man has some talent.

Done well on the dock on Thursday, not so much this Friday morning, not even a bump. Cleaned 35 last weekend from several days of catching them last week. Came out with around a gallon of filets and have enjoyed eating some delicious crappie. Son and grandson fished with me yesterday and this morning and they enjoyed themselves. I can't wait for the spawn to kick in so they can see what its like. Using combination colors of chartreuse and browns. Also a reddish blend of orange\yellow. I get more hits when the wind is out of the south or southwest, but do catch them with a north wind.
AMERICANS: Willing to cross a frozen river to kill you, in your sleep, on Christmas, totally not kidding, we've done it.
Fished with two great guys today, Todd Roland and Darren Emmons. We double dipped beaver bottom
baits in 6-9ft. Had 25 keepers today with 5 from 1.63-1.78. Here are 4 of them. EB![]()
Back on Eufaula today with a father-son duo Jeff Crook and Jason Crook. What a great father-son trip it was. It was a jerk fest for part of the day rolling many while pulling off before boating them. Couldn't of been from the 20mph north winds and 2'rollers we were dealt with. Lol. I was unaware that it was Jason's BD trip until it was over or we would of had Vienna Sausages with candles. Happy Birthday Jason Crook. Fish were in that 8'-9' depth today while some were relating to wood others were just scattered down the bank. They couldn't be where we could of fished in the protection of high banks. Lol we fought the conditions all day.
Technique was double dipping with Huckabee Pro Series Rods (AWESOME), Timmy Toms Weedless Jigs, Fle Fly Crappie Kickers and Go Go Minnows in Buster Brown and Black/Chartreuse. WT had cooled from earlier in the week from 64 to 56 degrees. We ended with 36 keepers, Big Fish in the 1.90's, and many short fish released. Thanks Jeff n Jason for fishing with me today. What a Great Day........Ranger
