The active fish in the coves I had patterned shut down around 11 am. Tried finding some more active fish on the north side but failed. Very slow day but managed to bring home 45 with a buddy. All were in 10 ft to 14 ft. Slowest fishing day I've had in a month and I'm blaming that dad gum East wind
We are due for a great year, its been too long since we've had 75-100 fish days. It might be like 2003 when we cleaned 5,700 crappie. I remember days in spring were everyone from Gaines creek to Gentry creek were catching 100s. EB
I'm wanting to come to Eufaula in the morning but I just don't know whether or not I'll be wasting my time with this east wind. I sure hope you're right about being due for a good year.
Josh, looking at that picture, I sure feel sorry that you had your worst day in a month.
ps Some of us are lucky if we get to take a picture like that in several months.
Im thinking about taking the family up there next week. Any good areas I need to hit up?
Went to Gentry and was goose egged! I really didn't see a whole lot of fish either. My last two trips to Eufaula have been a bust. I've never been to Gentry though and may have been in the wrong area. I covered a lot of water though.
Put in at Crowder Park this morning. Fished highway 69 rift raft, picked up a couple there. Then headed up Rock Creek as far as you can take a boat and caught some more. All in all wasn't too bad of a day. Between two guys we caught a limit of keepers and a lot of short fish and sand bass.Attachment 232021
Cute kids you got there MB. That boy looks like a natural.
Bet that girl will whip us all someday. My 13 yr old has quite the touch when working a thick brushpile!
