I'd really appreciate that. In fact, if you find them to be active and get a pattern on it, I'd appreciate a phone call.

I know a guy who caught some trolling deep diving crankbaits for sandbass over here in Longtown over a hump in 21' ow. His biggest went 11lbs.
got it smoky as soon i know something i'll call.
I have heard black crappie called calico bass. Then we have sac au lait in Louisiana for white crappie. On Eufaula Leland just calls'em "DINNER"Hands ClappingRofl
caught several Walleye in Longtown Creek just north of the island about 3 or 4 miles south of #9 Landing Campground..The point north of the Island runs like 100yds off the east bank and caught them off the end of the point throwing 3" shassy shads in pearl color and 3/8oz jigs. Have gone back several times and found them hanging off the that point..never caught many but up to 4 or 5 at a time..most of the time they were in the 18' to 22' range and showed up on locator well..up to 6lbs was the biggest I caught
I fished Saturday in the rain around the Gentry creek area and sycomore area. Ended up with 27 keepers the biggest was 1.14lbs. We spider-rigged minnowsin 8-15ft. We only caught on fish on the bank with a jig and cork. The fish were on isolated stucture 8ft deep. Had some good fish!EB
headed to fish the chocolate milk..wish me luck
Good luck Ranger. Talk about devotion. Has anybody heard of tornadoes or hi winds around I40 bridge. I'm down here in Texas and was wondering if I had a house to come home to.

Lake level as of 2:00 p.m. today is 585.88. That is almost a foot above normal. My guess is that even w/o any more rain, the lake will continue to rise for at least 3 or 4 more days. Does anyone know what the corps is forecasting?
They are generating through the power plant at 12200cfs and last inflow report was at 1 am today at 101000cfs. They are scheduled to generate around the clock.
I am sorry to report I went to Crowder to fish Monday, bout drowned. Watched the black pvc cover I was fishing disappear under the rising water (4 inches in 2 hours). I did catch fish, but it was not worth it. I am 0-3 this year at eufaula. At some point my luck on this lake has to change.
well crpwder and rock creek got me today..fished all my brushpiles, DOW stuff, and the rock piles that have been producing so good..got skunked..never thought the water would be so muddy, you could see the mud rolling..I even put on nibblets..1 wasnt working so I used 2..2 didnt work either..lol..chart,white,blue w/ sparkles, didnt matter..was talking to a feller in the back end of rock creek when a big cat jerked his rod overboard..went really fast..got my big rod out andput a slab on it and eventually caught it..he was a happy camper, he was wondering how he was going to tell his wife how he lost his Christmas Gift..lol..he had a smile on his face..well back to crappie fishin..was surprised that the temp was 63.8 when I unloaded..got up to 64.6 before I left..left my stuff and after a short trip across the big MUDDY finally found some fish that wanted to eat on the north side of blocker bridge..finished up with 19 nothing big but all over 10"..taling about working for them..Saw Todd today also and he now has a new boat..Triton is his flavor now and a nice looking rig..the water was alot more fishable on the northside of blocker and no rolling mud..but its headed that way..beats working
Wes, yes that was me, I usaully fish around the north end when I have a free evening. I heard that the bite on the culverts has been good up around gentry creek. I was out yesterday evening and was catching fish in 9-12 fow. Spider-rigging minnows. EB
I'll have to find some spots on Lavon or Lewisville in TX since I won't be back in OK for a few weeks. Guessing the water rose on Eufuala quite a bit since I went on Saturday.
Lake level is 586.67 as of noon today. That is +1.67 feet. How high will it go?
Me and Stink fished the Blocker area yesterday and ended up with 20 keepers, we double teamed them. Jim used a crappie rig set @ 6' and I jig & corked with 2 jigs on. Stink caught 3- 14" Sows on the minnows and I managed a couple of 12"13" ers. on jigs. We had the best bite during thunder and intermittent rain....then the wind switched to the North and they quit. Thanks for a great trip out Stink, I needed that!!!
nope it was Todd..maybe someone elses boat and trailor behind his wrapped vehicle but it was most definately Todd..they unloaded at Crowder City Park right behind me
but then again i might have mistaken the boat brand..white with red arrows or stripes..looked like a Triton..
I saw a new triton trailre parked behind his truck at the crowder parking lot about a week and a half ago.
My bad if I'm wrong Ranger, but we were talking last month and he said his new Legend Bass Boat was suppose to be in any day. He said he was like a kid waiting for Christmas. I've seen the red and white boat at his store with a cover on it, just figured it was his new one.
No Problem Don..didnt take it any other way than I could of been mistaken..doesnt matter anyway..so you fishing tomorrow..I think I will try Longtown tomorrow and might even make it above the timber,,depends on what I find before I get there..HAVE AM EMPTY SEAT TOMORROW ZFOR ANY TAKERS..LOL
I guess he may have been fishing in somebody else's boat, but I'm certain it was Triton trailer hooked o his truck at Crowder last week.
Fished with Todd last week and he has a Triton. Glad he got rid of that ugly orange wrapped color....
fished Longtown today..caught 2 10 1/2 crappie before getting into the creek, turned from fishable to very muddy quick, never caught a fish above the mouth of the creek. Left Longtown at around 11am and drove to Porum Landing and caught 3 bass from brushpiles.. not a single crappie kept or caught in the dutchess creek area. Water was fishable below the brigde and very murky above. Left the lake at 6pm rejected and tired..water temps at both longtown and dutchess creek was 63 to 64 degrees..just never could find a pattern that worked for me today, fished shallow in spawning areas that has always produced and fished brushpiles that always holds crappie pre and post spawn..it was 1 of those days..
Wow Ranger, wish I had known you were at Porum yesterday! I figured if there was any fishable water, it would be Porum or Brooken, so I chose Porum since it was closer. I arrived about 11 and started North but saw that the water above the bridge was muddy. Turned around and hit the rip rap which usually produces a few nice Blacks, but nothing but Kentucky's this time.
I used my 1197 to look under the boat docks on the West side (out of the wind) and found a few with brush. Couldn't get them to bite to save my life!
So I went looking for coves that had warmer water. I found some small coves with 65 degree water. Started catching a few males here and there in 3 to 6 foot water using a Purple and Chart and Red/Chart slab slayer. Moved out further look for the old girls but didn't find anything. I visited some other coves and if you could find brush in the 3 to 8 foot range, it usually had a fish or two on it.
It was a tough, tough day. I ended up with 7 keepers with about that many dinks thrown back.
Also found this swimming out in the middle of the lake above the bridge. It seemed confused, like it needed directions.

Thanx for the reports guys.
Don, or anybody else that knows for that matter. Is that a Bull snake?
Has anyone been out on the North end since all of the rain?
Looks Like BULL SNAKE to me Smoky..or it could be a copperheadedrattlesnake..never seen 1 that I like believe it or not..yes I know Bull or King snakes are good 1's but they still make me hurt myself..lol
Don you arrived about the same time as I did..put in on the east ramp..and fished the south bank first across from the camping ground..usually holds lots of fish and has a few brushpiles that I sunk a couple yrs ago..they need rebuilt and I will during the winter..was in a red and white ranger what was you fishing in..sure wish I had of known..fished all the way to the mouth of dutchess but that west wind at 25mph was a killer and kept me from fishing my stuff (rock piles and ledges) after you make the turn heading east..headed up the cove east just before hitting the big water and fished a few places there but it was getting really muddy too..hope it settles before the 14th..might make for a long Saturday at Crowder
:confused:Got to lake this afternoon to find my home cove 7 feet deeper than it was the last time I was here a week ago. It was also a mess. Filled with debris, mud, dead turtles, washed out pvc and other junk. To top it off a beaver bit through a hose on my boat lift causing it to leak air and fall. Don't even know why I tried to fish but I did. Not a bite. What are peoples thoughts about the remainder of the spring crappie in the aftermath?
