Fished dock Saturday while everyone else was fighting wind on Keystone. Overslept and didn't get there til almost 6:30am. Figured I wouldn't be able to even get inside. Turned out crowd was down considerably because bite has slowed some. They didn't really get started much until about 7:45. pretty much quit by about 10:30. I ended up cleaning 29. Overall size was down a little for me, but others were catching nicer fish consistently. Just depended on the pile being fished I think. Color/type bait didn't really seem to matter. Caught some on tubes/BG's/Jokers/hair jigs. Hopefully will get to go back next Saturday. If anyone else goes, please introduce yourself. Always like meeting other anglers.

I've never fished here, what's the hour's and fees for this? Who do you pay? I've only fished Blackwell a few times but remember where the bait shop is. Is the dock close to the bait shop? Hope you guy's don't mind all the questions. On any given day how many people are in the dock...say around 7:00 a.m.? I have never fished in a enclosed dock so this would be an experience for me. Tired of running over to Roman Nose and catching those trout. Hoping to get into some floppies. Thanks alot cardsfan.

You can pay at the guard shack 5 bucks a car load to fish. I've seen as few as 5 to 25 fishin at about 7:00. There is alot of room on the outside which is where I prefer to fish when I go. It gets pretty tight on the inside. Still, if it starts to turn in to a rugby match inside stand your ground and speak your mind, and carry some clippers in case it gets real bad! LOL Naw just move outside its not as crowded. Have a good time. If I can get the boss lady to cut me some slack I may be up there Sat. EARLY! Pappa

A bird hunting buddy that lives fairly close to Blackwell and I made a run this morning. The bite was slower than any previous trip for me and the fish smaller. Still brought home a dozen and enjoyed visiting with the folks there. I think I counted 13 at the most inside and it was pretty frozen outside.

Just a quick note to let you know...the fish house is HOT right now. Numerous limits taken today and a lot of good 11 to 12" fish. If your free this weekend you may consider blackwell. I didnt fish but had two friends limit in 2 hours with nothing smaller then 10" and several 11 and 12" fish and the store at blackwell has posted pics on FB of todays fish from several anglers and they are all decent.

Wow! Instead of a day late, I was a day early! Definitely wasn't that way yesterday. Just my luck.

My son, daughter in law and I fished the dock Saturday AM. Left Tulsa at 3:00am thinking we would beat the most of the crowd even being a Saturday. WRONG! There were already 11 vehicles in lot before 5:00am. Inside dock was packed. Son and his prego wife managed to find a little room inside, I fished outside. That wind coming off the ice was a little brutal, but we all caught fish. I ended with 22 from outside. they managed 25 between them from inside. There were a ton of fish caught. Amazing thing, people just kept coming and coming..... Fish were 10 to 15'. Color really didn't seem to matter. Got to meet Crappieciller's son and come to find out we had some common friends. Bite was done by about 10:00am. I'm thinkin' if you want to try this one the next few days, better get there about midnight and just wait it out!! Overall, I think size was better inside than out, at least for me.

By the time he got there, the outside bite had slowed a lot. Once the sun got on the water they seem to shut down outside. I forgot his screen name, i think i remember it having a 44 in it. Come to find out we have some common friends/aquaintances. My best friend is very good friends with Ed and Elaine Hintze. In fact, he is staying with them this week while he's in town running the Chili Bowl midget races. His name is Bob Brewer. Small world.
