Has anyone been out on the lake lately, or just fishing the dock? It sounds like the fishing is good on the lake so I may take the boat up to get away from the crowds and try to find the fish elsewhere.

i was planning on taking boat out tomorrow around 1, its supposed to be around 60 degrees. will post results if i do. If you do plan on going, remember to get a Park/Boat pass that will cost you $8.00 or a yearly for Park/Boat is $80.00
Ok great, thanks for the heads up. I'll probably get there early in the morning, I'll be in a white/gray Ranger w/ power poles so come up and say hi if you see me or come up if you see me catching fish and I'll make room.
Ok so what's a black power pole and what technique (s) do you use one in?
SC - Tell your buddy that is a great pic. I fished beside him all morning and I think we may have been the only two that knew how to stay out of each other's way. He seemed like a nice guy and he definitely knows how to catch fish. That's me in the blue coat, front and center. I asked him if he was on CDC and he said no. He seemed amazed we drove from Tulsa to fish there. The locals do seem a little upset the dock has gotten so popular all of a sudden. My friend and I ended up catching 20 and as we were loading up, another angler was leaving and decided he didn't want to clean his, so we inherited another 20. Jig color didn't seem too critical as much as being in right pile at right time. I caught most of mine on a solid pink BG. Think my son and I may try to go Tuesday. If any CDC'ers are there, please introduce yourself. Always like to put faces with names!
Perch, yeah Justin is a great guy and your right, he can definitely catch his share of fish. As with anything, locals become protective of their stuff and frown when they have to share but that's the way it is. I am glad that thousands of crappie are being taken out of the lake and put on peoples dinner table. That lake has way to many small fish in it. Wish they would raise the limit to 50 or 60 for a few weeks. Good Luck tomorrow if you end up going. Make sure to post how you did. I am gonna be putting my time in on Keystone this week to prepare for this weekends tournament.
Sorry for the late post, but it takes this old man longer than it used to in overcoming being up over 24 hours! My son and I fished the dock Tuesday AM. Fished from 5:30 til 10:00 and ended up with 39. Variety of colors, blk/chart and blk/pink Vibraking tubes, Green Hornet, Threadfin shad BG baby shads doing the best. Still lots of people, but all caught fish. I don't mind "fishin friendly" as long as it's actually friendly, and most here seem to be just that. Hope to go back Saturday AM. If so, figure I need to arrive about an hour earlier with it being the weekend!

Perchjerker,
Saturday is the Oklahoma Crappie.com Tourney out on Lake Keystone. You may want to check it out. It is a lot closer to Tulsa than Carl Blackwell.
