Coon Creek, Sarge Creek and Washunga Bay are now closed. Water is on the lower road above the ramp at Pioneer. They are saying yesterday the lake will come up 10 more feet. They were hoping to open some gates sometime today but there is still 65,000 cubic feet coming in.

Just got back from 6 days of fly fishing NE New Mexico. Snow melt and rain sediment in the streams didn't make for good fishing. Nice scenery though.
Kaw looked just as muddy today after a tour of local lakes this evening. They haven't released any water since March 23, so the lake levels keep coming up.
Currently its 27.29' high. One good thing is that the inflow has decreased by half in the last three days.

Trash is all over the lake. Since there is no current, the old driftwood along the dam/banks is just drifting around at the mercy of the wind. Pretty dangerous to be out there in a boat if you would be going faster than an idle.

    Default Coon Creek, Kaw lake

This is the entrance to Coon Creek as of yesterday evening. Water continues to rise. Inflow is at 50,000 cfm's this morning.

Im sure that inflow will be increasing in a day or two with Wichita recieving rain the last two days and more to come. Pretty soon I may be able to fish in my back yard.

Darryl I hope you anchored those brush piles good. When they do open the gates there's gonna be a lot of water moving.
