Went on Monday and caught 1 fish under the highway 11 bridge. Drove out east of Newkirk yesterday and saw several trucks under the river road bridge. Sandies must be starting to run. Won't be long now!

If Kaw holds true to past years spring pattern, it will be the last lake in the state to start and finish spawning. (at least out of the lakes I fish )

Thanks dstreet. In case you have not looked at the archives before check out http://www.crappie.com/crappie/showt...Kaw-lake/page8 Look at page 9 also. The archives give you a good idea when to expect the fishing to heat up.
