Pretty tough day today. Wind was west / northwest all day. Kaw is tough to fish with a west wind. Caught several smaller fish in 19 fow. Couldn't stay on the brush piles. The better fish were buried in em today.

Pretty good day today. Morning bite was terrible but got really good after 2:00 PM. Fish were 17 to 20 ft in brush. Caught a few on BG red / chart but bigger fish came on db minnow rig using drop shots. All the bigger fish were caught around a foot off bottom. Water temp came up from 35 deg to 37 dg this afternoon. Fish are tight in the brush. Fished the riprap all day.

Didn't make it Wednesday. Wife and I had an appointment that afternoon. Looks like I missed a good day. Congrats on the catch.

FYI - For all you guys that's not familiar with the Kaw Lake area, you can get minnows by the pound in Newkirk, Ok @ Blackjack Bait. The contact number is 405-612-7045. They are not there all the time so it's wise to call in advance and let them know when you will be there and they will meet you. They are closed on Tuesday's and Wednesday's. I would call an day or two in advance. Kaw One Stop in Kaw City has them most of the time but again I would call ahead and make sure they have them in advance. They only sell them by the dozen. One Stop' number is 580-269-2929. The are also carrying the Timmy Toms weedless jig heads at One Stop now. I would check with both before I made the trip up here for minnows because they are out at times.

Thought I had her today fellas. Few ounces short. 2 lbs 9 oz. Caught several big fish today. Bite was really good 8 to 10 am. Bigger fish came a foot off bottom. Smaller fish are schooled above them. Ended up with a limit in 19 fow. Water temp was up to 40 deg this afternoon. Caught them on big shiners and crappie nibbles with drop shot. Setting bottom hook 1 ft from weight on bottom.

You are right Josh. My son informed me my digital scales weigh in one tenths so the next one up was 3 lbs. She weighed right at 2 lbs 15 oz. I'm not much into weighing fish only reason I bought good scales is to weigh my granddaughter's bigger crappie when they catch em. I kinda have that Wally Marshal theory and that's the best place for crappie is in the hot grease.
