Coming down to Kaw Thursday and Friday. Is there any ramps open on the north end that aren't as steep as Sarge if it is icy and where is a good place to stay with a boat to charge it.

Sarge is the least steep ramp on the north end other than coon creek plus it gets more sun. Never had any trouble at Sarge we just check wind direction for the day. As far as places to stay the motels in Ponca City are your only option. I would check with Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn and Fairfield Inn. They are all on the north end of town and closest to Highway 11 east to Kaw City. Crappie are biting pretty good.

Forgot to mention if anybody comes to fish Kaw and uses minnow, the only place to get them is Bubbas Bait shop in Blackwell, Ok. They sell them by the pound or dozen. One Stop in Kaw City or Blackjack Bait in Newkirk said they probably wouldn't have any until January. Don't know about the bait shop on the south end. The number for the bait shop in Blackwell is: 580-262-2275.

Thanks TY for the info. Caught some good fish 13 to 15.5 a couple of Fridays ago out off the rocks till they quit drawing water, then they shut off. fished the brush for a while but they were all fish about 8 - 11" so quit fishing them. Caught them all on metallic blue and chartreuse 3 inch stingers with 1/4 oz. road runner head in 12 to 15 FOW. When they hit they thumped he old meat dragger hard . Wanting to try the Pro series out this week to see if like it as much as the meat dragger. Thanks again for the info.

Wind is really gonna dictate where you get to fish Thursday and Friday. Supposed to gust as high as 40 mph Friday. Good luck.

Wind is looking a little wild so took off tomorrow and headed down in the morning to fish for the day. Think i will fish local the rest of the weekend. I will have a empty seat if anyone wants to jump in tomorrow. let you all know how it goes.

Windy and cold is about all I have for Kaw yesterday. Water temp was around 39 at Washunga area and 47.7 in the small cove just north of Osage cove up towards the Dam. Really slow day.
