Prefished Gibson today. It was hot...I mean the weather was hot, not the fishing. Thanks to EB this morning for your help launching my boat (almost had to back the truck all the way into the water to get the boat off the trailer). The water seems to be down a long ways (and it's as clear as I've seen it). A lot of the places I like to fish up the river were only in about 3-4 feet of water. They are normally in 6-10 feet. Needless to say, the fish weren't there. I caught a four or five fish up in the river, but nothing very impressive (see pics). Then, the river current became a lot stronger, so I headed back down towards Clear Creek. I ended up catching 20 today. Of the 20, 16 were 10" or bigger. But, they were skinny, and nothing more than 12". The most effective methods were using minnows (drop shot), and casting and dragging either a clear/white/silver Beaver Bottom (1/4 oz jig head), and a 1/8 oz jig with a 3" Muddy Water Bait (Monkey Milk with blue and red sparkles). I also caught several dead sticking submerged trees with a black and chart Beaver Bottom. I'm looking forward to Saturday's tournament. I'm going to start praying to see if heaven can point me to a few bigger fish

Attached: a nice screen shot of a submerged tree with lots of little fish all over it.
