I fished ft. gibson sat, I believe the WT was 50 in the AM and about 53 in the PM. Fished everywhere I could think of where deeper water transitions to a shallow bank quickly. We started out on hwy 51 bridge, fishing a few small piles around 18FOW. NO Luck. Went up to Flat Rock creek area where I heard they caught them OK 10 days proir. AgaIN 16 FOW to steep bank, no luck. Fished Clear Creek around standing timber, no luck. Went down to Bananna Cover and fished docks with no luck. Cannot believe we didnt land 1 fish in the boat sat!!! not even a drum was interested.....
Fished Gibson today, had 21 keepers, caught about 30 throwbacks, went across the dam and saw they had gates open almost went somewhere else but didn't. Fished 20' to 10' wt was 56 and warmed to 60, main lake water is clearer than the creeks!!!
Finally someone posted a Ft Gibson report!! I was beginning to think the lake had dried up!! :)
Lol it's still there, by past experience it's always the last lake around to get fired up!!!
Flooded not dried up! Hard lake to fish when its rolling! Thats why its so good in the summer and fall! It's stable then EB
Had some friends fish Gibson on Monday and had 27. Fish caught in 14 mile creek and Jackson Bay area.....Ranger
I may hit it Saturday - will give a report. I see the Wildlife Department Report say 1-5ft but I am having a hard time believing that with the water up over 2ft still......
Fished 6-9pm Friday with success. Sat AM 7-11 with success but smaller fish. They pulled water over night (and for awhile sat am) which disturbed the pattern I fished the night before. The fish were as tuxedo black as the come. Spawned out. In the back of creeks....as in the END of the creek. All my fishing was South of HWY 51 bridge. All my fish were on minnows- I didn't really try jigs because minnows were working well.
