I had an HB998 in my old boat and I never found brush piles like I do with the Lowrance units in my new boat. I don't know if I just know more about where to look now, if I just never figured out the settings on the HB, or if there was a problem with the unit, but I find more stuff on every trip with the Lowrance than I did the entire year I had the HB.

Yes. JPEGs are commonly used for photographs and realistic images and is a lossy data compression. PNGs are for line art, text-heavy images, images with few colors and is a lossless data compression.

Achiro, I think it takes a lot of playing around no matter what unit you have on your boat to get the setup right. Brush piles, especially ones with small limbs, can be hard to find because they get water logged and sonar will go thru them and not give a good return. I have had my HB 998 for four years and have 1375hrs. on it, so I has did a lot of playing.

Fishers, not debating your decision to buy the Lowrance, just wondering why you where having problems seeing the trees on your 798 in DI.
We need to move on and let this Thread get back to "Crappie Report" If you are going to leave the 798 upfront, and want so help, we can move to the main forum under Electronics. dj

Hey I have a new challenge for C.C. I call it three lakes in two days. Kidding aside, I ended up doing best at Killer so I will post the reports here. Started at Kerr Friday morning at 6 am, fished till 3 pm. Pulled out and went to Wister, fished into the night till 11 pm. Slept (sort of slept) in the truck at the shell parking lot in Sallisaw till 330 am, drove to killer and fished from 430 till 1130. First, Kerr was very disappointing. I have wanted to fish the coves on the south side of the lake from the dam to san boise creek for a couple of years. The cove I launched in was the one closest to the dam, I worked the south bank and coves in the fishy spots all the way up into san boise which was really too muddy to fish. Did by far the best in the cove I launched in. I caught a few really nice ones but I wanted to spy out the land so I left biting fish . On to Wister, didnt do well, should have listned to Robert (wisterslabdaddy), the bugs were unbearable. Didnt really give it a fair shot, had to bail out. On to Killer, got there and went to my spots while still dark, marked my piles in 18 to 30 FOW. At first light, just killed them. Not any fish over 1.5 lbs. but it was one right after another. After my recent experiences, it was nice to pull in some fish. Fished until the googans made the lake unfishable, then drove around marking new spots till 1130.

Fishers let me know on the blackberries, I have about 10+ gallons in the freezer. Could help a fishing buddy out if you need.
