Talked to a buddy of mine that caught 14 nice crappie last Tuesday and even caught some up in the river which had been awfully dead this fall so far so things are looking to pick up alil on Tenkiller right now. He did say the water temp was in the low 70's when he put in and the fish caught were in spawning depths and close to wood. He also said he caught alot of 9 1/2 and 9 3/4 length fish.
Yea I caught a bunch of those 9 15/16 inch fish also. That's a good sign.
WINDY. I caught enough to fire up the knife, but i didnt slay em. Caught some nice blacks.
what part of the lake you fishin slab
I'm off this next week for a combo of deer hunting and fishing! Any update Slabs Inc? Depth, structure...
I've been up the lake, the fish seen to be shallow 6-8. It's been really windy the last two times I have been there so I can't say how the deep bite is. Im almost a Cookson and below kind of guy but time and being by my self I just been putting in at Elk Creek. I'm sure there are some log jams up the river after this last springs floods that would be heaven, but I haven't found any yet. A friend has been catching some super big slabs pulling cranks down the lake but the fish are far and very few between.
Thanks for the update Slabs, we have been tearing the catfish up for the last month or so. We usually fish the upper part of the lake. We put in at Elk Creek also. Hopefully this next week I can get on some crappie!
Good luck.
Hadnt fished any this past few weeks taking my Gr'Daughter and then my Dad hunting but here is the latest from my pard. He went last Tuesday and caught 18 keepers- keeping only his limit- and was off the water by 2:30pm. Went Wednesday and had 19 keepers with some really nice fish-keeping only a limit of 15-. Went back on Thursday the morning of the freeze and the water temps had dropped 7 degrees to 62 and the bite was off alot. Fished most of the day with only 7 keepers caught.. He concentrated on waters from Sizemore to Elk Creek and said the blk/pink Bobby Garland was the ticket all 3 days.....Ranger
