not so sure calling yesterday as perfect fishing weather..fished in insulated overalls and coat all day..not so perfect..NNE winds blowing at 15 to 20 mph all day..standing on the trolling motor all day gave me leg cramps lastnight..lol...but it was perfect for catchin big ole crappie..fished 1 pile out in the middle of a flat atleast a mile from shore in any direction in 11' of water right on the river channel and caught 15 crappie in 15 cast..was an awesome day and like old times on Tenkiller..guess if you catch em its a perfect day..Good Luck Redge

I would agree that wouldn't have been my ideal fishing day either, however it is better than working!!

OM you had to remind me I have a job..and the bad news is I go back tonight..its been a balst and from March the 18th til yesterday my Buddy, Son and myself have caught a total of 873 kepper Crappie..not saying we have kept that many but thats the total of Crappie that would of been Legal to keep in my standards of being 10" or better fish..again we have only kept our limit and nothing over..its been a good VACATION but I couldn't take this week off..so going back for 4 nights and then well I have 2 more off..the crappie are safe for atleast 4 days..lol

Man that is really impressive! I am glad you had a good time on your vacation. We must have passed each other on the lake last saturday, after I saw your post, I wished I had been looking at boats better.

I was beginning to wonder if you were a trust fund baby! I was thinking, " how does he fish so much???". lol

Was just wondering if you ever fish the caney ridge area in the spring. I have a trailer on the south end at meadow park and was thinking about heading down this weekend and giving it a try. I fish out of a float tube rigged with a hummingbird 570 di and could use any suggestions on were to try .

we have been catching most of ours around cherokee state park and in the river. right now the spawn is on so when you find them its going to be on for sure.

todd, anywhere you can find a brushpile in 5 to 14 foot of water and it hadnt been fished that day better hang on cause the spawn is on..caught some of the biggest fish this year ever from tenkiller..and I have fished this lake since the early 70's when it was noted for a crappie lake..the limit of 15 and the 10" lenght limit has certainly helped i believe..hope they do not remove it for atleast 2 more years..

Yeaaaah baby! Watch out crappie! You might want to get a house boat, hang some cedar off the back and just park at the right depth and place for that time of year.
