Been out the past two evenings and have prob caught round 100 fish between the two but most of em was only 8-9 inches and I had a total of 5 keepers that were 10 inches out of all them fish. I just have not been able to get on the good ones for some reason.
I can live with the wind, I learned in my many years of playing golf in Oklahoma that if you wait for the wind to calm down, you spend alot of time inside! Plus the wind does seem to keep the traffic down on the water. Good to hear your catching some bigBone. When my buddy makes the drive, I like for him to catch some. We still have a good time even when we've been skunked though.
I agree with you on the wind. I try find a little wind cover and throw out the anchor to keep me in spot. Most of the time that wind sure makes for a good saugeye bite. All the crappie I've caught the past couple days have been in about 3 ft of water. I was reading water temp ranging from 74-76 yesterday evening in the shallows. Hope y'all get one em today boat49, I may venture out later myself.
Does make for a good saugeye bite.
We went to a cove that I just started fishing again since I got the boat fixed that has always done us well. We hit all the regular spots, (standing timber and brush) and picked up a few, mostly 6-8's with one pushing 12 I yanked over a stump. We then headed for another of our old standbys on the other side of the lake but while on the way we made a pass along the dam. We found them at the grate, in 35 fow stacked from 13-14' all the way to the bottom! We caught about 50 there in right at 2 hours. Mainly hit minnows with 12-15 coming on jigs. All were hooked below the 20ft level. Several females had eggs ready to explode out of them! I kept 1 that was 13", 6 that were all right at 10'', the rest went back in. Wind wasn't bad, boat traffic wasn't an issue although they started showing up towards the end, so all in all a good day on the water. :cheers2
Been a long time since I tried a pic. If this works, this is the only one clear enough showing them stacked deep.

Oh it worked all right! That looks like you were shooting fish in a barrel. Hard to miss em. Who quit first- you or the crappie?
Wow! Let's hope they were biting.
Ran out of minnows and Doug had to head home, so it was a mutual agreement that we would stop and they would stay there until we return again!! They were hitting jigs also but I'd say 8 to 1 minnows over jigs.
