I was out last evening also and only caught one dink. Headed for the dock at sunset, but guess I should have stayed! The north end of the lake is a muddy mess with debris floating everywhere.

Water temp was 56-57 at the boat ramp and 57-58 at the north end.

The daggone lake has not turned over yet...the Crappie we have been catching feel like you got them out of the freezer!
Today since there was no sun, they were biting after work, and before the cold front came through.
They really liked pink with a Chartreuse head and a 2" White swimmer.
I was almost vertical jigging off the bottom and barely moving the swimmers. Bites are terribly light and you have to stop at the bite and let them take it.
Still, no spawning activity for Shad or WB...saw a few more carp wrestling on the rocks.

Anytime I get a delivery from Japan, something new is going to be unleashed...this is gonna be a good one too!lol
Went out Wednesday after work...the entire lake had 3 ft rollers and breaking waves...if I only had my surfboard.
Tried to fish, but I couldn't find anywhere out of the wind.
Went back out today after work and found GRANDMA BLUEGILL...I didn't fish at all, I just got my hug and sat and gained more experience.
Amazing what you can learn, if you listen! That woman has 90 years of fishing wisdom! She says they'll be ON next week!

Heading up to CJ in the early morning.... according to earlier posts the morning isn’t the time to be there. Oh well, gonna give her hell anyway. I’ll post temps and results once I return home.
Temps at 0600 were 58.7 and 59.6 at 1100. Lots of debris and lake seemed to be getting ready to flip. Fishing was slow as expected. Maybe next time.

It really doesn't matter what bait you prefer to throw...We are just throwing something we are comfortable with and Sickles for good hookups! If the bite stops, then change colors or style and they will start back up again...it may stop for a day when the coldfront moves back in, but with the water temps warmer, they will go back to feeding for the spawn.
Bite still doing well? I'd like to take my 5 & 4 year olds out, but they have short attention spans and its an hour in the car. We went last year and had a blast though.
Went to the marina this morning. Caught 2 keepers on chartreuse and orange tubes. The carp are splashing under the docks! Also the new bait & tackle shop at the marina is now open. They will open at 8am. Delivery truck of minnows was there.

East wind Tuesday...
Went out yesterday...bite was on like Donkey Kong. They hit anything I krpt 25 over 12". Left before storms. Any color and any shape, dlow retrieve.
Went out today...water is at pool, they were dumping water, the creek was flooded, and water over the sidewalks.
Marina bite was slow, but still managed 20 in the wind and heavy surf. Water was "dark" used Bright Fluorescents.
I'm gonna wait and try Wednesday.
I’m going to try Tuesday anyway as Wednesday n Thursday looks like rain n wind. I wish I could have stayed in Florida a little longer!Quote:

Forgot my fishing shoes and had my steel toe boots on, so I fished yesterday for a couple hours after work at the Marina....OH MY!
Sky was dark, barely any wind, water was dark...really nice conditions!
Marina was crowded, THE FINEST were out in force...catching and keeping crappie and gills that needed to be in my aquarium...it absolutely amazes me!
I Actually caught several large females and threw them back in on the lake side, had a couple guys want me to give them the fish I was catching...and then I was called bad names for not doing so! Amazing again! I ended up with almost a limit, with only a couple dinks, most were caught on the black/blue silver sparkle 3" easy shiner. They must be getting used to white and Chartreuse!lol
Heard 2 guys across the Marina cussing and arguing THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS THERE, over by the restaurant...because 1 guy had the other guys preferred spot...must be Christmas trees over there again! So much for peace and quiet.
I've just about figured out that I pretty much hate most of this Society...I think that my goal over the next couple weeks will be to catch as many Marina fish as possible, and put them back in lakeside...all in the name of conservation! Lol
But I thought that transporting fish from one body of water to another was illegal LOL

Throw something that moves and you can catch fish!
Except for the guy that was ripping lips!!! Lol This poor guy was missing fish after fish, I swear that he was ripping Crappie mouths off with his Tarpon hooksets! I just laughed...
No fishing tonight...Big cruise-in at Frisch's on main street at 6pm.
So is spotlighting deer in the campground when you have to go potti with a FLASHLITE.

I was there about two weeks ago with my neighbor and got bait. They didn’t have a lot to choose from but were nice and trying to learn. Hope they make it as I will stop in again

bad news: both McDonalds and Wendy's are precooked. length is determined by traffic.

I've fished the last 3 weeks and never went to the Marina. Wanted to try and review the 4 dollar burger.
The last 4 days I have been to the Marina to fish, and have gotten drenched, and didn't want to sit cold and wet. But I will get in there soon.
Went to the Marina so I could get to the car quick...didn't work!
CJ fish are in the Summer Pattern. Spawns are done, fry everywhere.
Water is Dark snd Murky...late Evening bite if you can catch time between the rain.

This is my evaloatiom (phonics spelling) of the MARINA RESTRANT. Wife and I went to the marina restrant. they confirmed to me that they did in fact cook fresh.Then Idid something I'm very proud of. I bought everyone in there a cheeseburger, French fries and a coke. It came to $17.68. Not too bad and every thing was good.. I will give it ***** star rating. Again, didn't check out the bait shop, we will do that next week.
