Well...no fishing for awhile for me...
Until the bacteria warnings are lifted.
This is usually the first stage of an algae bloom too.

yours was the hippie generation Friend !
Been fishing Indian only for the last couple months with my buddy Pat.
The Saugeye fishing is unreal. Realistically you can limit from dusk to dark every day!
I have to admit that Saugeye are waaay better fighters than Walleye, and they hit a swimbait aggressively like a Bass. The fish are healthy too, and the water quality is almost perfect...unlike our home lake!
Good Fishing

You can save money by only buying and using white swimmers! lol

am going to assist the " C" tree effort on the main boat ramps, the blocks appeared as if by magic. ( and no it wasnt i ). if the odd stealthy attractor should parley as to magically appear in the early hours will try to find a spot or 2 for them ASAP. will throw together any near by osage orange, mulberry ect limbs to give them a longer usefulness. if could actually recover even several dozen of the VHD clamps and cables they are still quite reusable with longer lasting materials when it's nicer... will try to keep this as hush hush as possible...
It was posted on the CJ Facebook page that no one outside the odnr is allowed tp help due to the "Pandemic"!
But you can go out and see where they drop it...oh my!
Lowell
it looks as now the odnr may reconsider...same bs we put up with!lol
par chance do you have their phone number ?
Cover started going in yesterday...guys went out to see where it was put in....that's not the reason for cover!!!!
I guess being able to take 2 baskets of Crappie each time you go out is not enough....but the ODNR is posting the GPS locations on the huntfishohio App.
Walleye are biting good, only saw one boat out!...I am not keeping any due to the smell of the meat from last years fish....I put back a 28 inch Big Girl, and a couple 26's. Caught most on White 4" Keitech Easy Shiner Swimmers and 4 on my glow-in-the-dark ones! Heading to Indian for awhile to load up the freezers!
I bought my first 2 St Croix Rods to go with my Zebco Bullet (Cast pole), Quantum Smoke Spinner Spinning Pole), and Daiwa MoreThan12 Braid. I really like these poles!
Still Catching Walleye at CJ...water is still below Winter pool.
Crappie and Saugeye are going nuts at Indian....water temps are 60ish!
Well done Sir !
Fritz, how are you doing Friend ?
It is my pleasure to announce my Marriage to Christina Louise Stabler on May 8th 2021 at approx. 2:30 PM at the Shriner's Club on Shrine Rd. on May 7th at that same location at approx. 5-9ish PM there will be an informal and semi-disorganized bachelor's fishing party on the premises. of necessity the pond being rather small it is of course catch and release ONLY as well as BYOB, bait, strippers, ect should anyone be so inclined. was permitted to invite 1 and all of those whom may be so inclined to attend . you and all will be required to bait your own hooks and to unhook anything ( if any ) that you might catch... please feel free to attend if you wish to...
correction- the bachlor fish-a-thon is supposed to be from 7-? Friday evening. my bad. miss you guys, Friends. fought hard to get permission so please feel free to join me, no RSVP crap required to attend.
Thank You Brent ! you and any or all of you are welcome to join me the 7th at 7PM if you wish to
Fished CJ this weekend....Lake is still closer to Winter Pool instead of where it should be....Freaking Idiots at COE!...It's still about 2 ft down, but will rise with all the rain unless they decide to dump water and really screw up the fishing!
Water temp was 58 just under the surface and 50 close to the bottom.
I didn't bother fishing in Shallow water...so I went to the deep holes and found the Big ones stacked up! I Ended up both days with over 30 fish and none of them were under 11 inches....the big ones are patiently waiting on water temp and summer pool....and they are eating!
Saw an old buddy who was fishing in a different area and he was only catching dinks, he moved the next day and caught some keepers.
All of mine were released back to Mother CJ, since "the Crappie are all stunted there" and they water quality sucks...that way maybe someone else can catch some larger fish! LMAO
The wind on Sunday was terrible but It really helped to get your cast into deep water where the fish are! Caught every fish on a 3" white Easy Shiner!
Good Fishing to All!
Went out to CJ last night around 4pm to trial a V&M Wild Shad for a competitor.
Let me start by saying their is absolutely no excuse in modern times why this lake is so low...this is just another example of COE being idiots!
The V&M shad has possibilities in your arsenal....
The profile is amazing, other than a Keitech this is probably one of the softest feeling plastics around....the rings really make it soft and hold air which makes alot of bubbles in the water. It has a harder center core for durability.
When you burn this bait, the action is amazing...the bait wobbles from left to right, and the tail action is second to none...and that is what the swimbait excels at!
The downside is the weight...at a normal or slow retrieve the bait nose dives, with the tail up and doing nothing...there's even no action bouncing it off the bottom, or letting it sink!
But, if you need a durable, soft to the touch, big shad profile bait, to burn in the summer then give it a try!
Lake is full, crappie are moving in, and this week will be EPIC!
Was out Tuesday, 8 hits 2 10"+ crappies. Handicapped Spot seems to have new cover on it
Went out to Cajun Cliffs yesterday evening after fishing the STINKY Marina a couple times last week...and I found the big Ladies! I also found an old buddy of the CJ Wolf Pack, Roy Hayes (TXflatsfishing).
We headed to the Cliffs and talked, Laughed, and caught fish while catching up!
I think Roy ended up with 5 species during his day!
The Big Women were all about colors....except Red and Super Bright Chartreuse, they hit every other color readily...there were ZERO dinks caught...the smallest went 10.5 and they all had big bellies, so the women are still in deep water feeding, waiting for the nests to be readied!
The real fun started around 9pm...in 45 minutes I caught 10 fish Ohio's or better! The Real BIG Women were grubbing on white after it was pretty dark!
Fun Night...all the stinky water fish were released unharmed to drop eggs into the "stunted" lake! LMAO
Good Fishing To All!
Very well done to both of you !
Hit CJ the past 2 days again...fished flats!
Big Girls are moving in and feeding heavily...spawn will start at this Blood Full moon!
Channels are hitting fast moving swimbaits, same with WB, SM, LM, and Gators.
Had two 6 species nights in a row....didn't even bother trying any other colors...white 3" Easy Shiners caught fish on almost every cast both days! When I got bored I varied the retrieve and still caught fish.
I still have not caught anything smaller than a 10 inch Crappie...pretty good for a stunted lake! LMAO
All my other pics have landmarks, gps, and areas for my files....not giving out my history again!lol
CJ has Water Safety Warnings for high levels of E.coli (Poop Bacteria)! Started on May 27th and still going on! I thought it was smelling kinda early!
It'll be Blooming soon.....
got out last Tuesday from 10 until 6. 2 kitties and a small crappie all on minnows and jigs under a WingIt at 7- 8' of water outside of the N breakwater
