Don't know how far south you're going but it's 27* right now in the sw corner of the state and weather app shows Centre, Alabama is 26*.
I hope you find some warmth. I think I'm more tired of the cold than I am the high water.

Ah... the mid 70's, that would be wonderful.
I'm heading to Alabama on the 25th.
I’ve never stayed in Alabama but I’ve traveled through a couple times on my way to and from Biloxi Ms. I gotta say the best places to eat with the friendliest people on that road trip were in Alabama. I really like driving down 65 seems like everyone In the south knows how to keep it moving!

I never made it to the lake today. But I did make it to the Mexican restaurant for a great lunch and 1/2 price margaritas.[emoji41]Attachment 294043

This is unusual for the lakes to be up this high AND this long AND having the roads gated closed. A 3'-10' rise during heavy rains isn't rare and happens several times a year but the ramps are all still usable. I guess with all the area flooding we had they are taking the lake I normally fish down pretty slow this time. Even with the water up so high I walked down and can see plenty of ramp to launch on, I can't understand why the gates are still closed.
On a normal year I get out of my treestand in Jan and we can get in the boat sometime in Feb.
When I looked out the window and saw that snow earlier today I found it ironic that my HVAC guy is coming next week to put in a new AC unit.

I checked on my minnows in the bucket in my car. There's a nice layer of ice across the top of them and they seem very active. I wish this weather would start to cooperate. It's driving me nuts! Hope you and the family have a good trip down to South Carolina.

With the weather being like this, it makes you wonder if you made the ice fishing gods mad. [emoji17] [emoji17]

It’s 6:00 am and the weather still sucks! [emoji23] But the it’s not snowing & It does look to be trending a bit warmer. I might slip out to a local lake today if I get time. I was supposed to work today but after the snow yesterday I’m pretty sure that’s out. Well let’s put it this way I texted my boss yesterday and said “(tomorrow looks like a bust” )he replied “(looking like it” )lol he never said one way or the other for sure so I figure if I’m supposed to be there I’ll be getting the where are you call any minute now.[emoji23] Anyone going out to chase some fishes today?

Well I stopped down at the lake for an hour. Cold west wind in my face the whole time couldn’t by a bite.

Weather looks nice! I don't think you're fishing for crappie there.

You deserve a good time. You bust your back like the rest of us with families. Enjoy the sun and your fishing time.

Hit Bigeyurk25 up today to see what he was up too. We settled on a common spot to try and catch my elusive first crappie of my season. All in all the weather wasn't that bad for Ohio in March. I finally got my first crappie of the season.
