Keitech has a color called Sight Flash...it is Opaque white on top and a clear bottom with silver flake. All of their swimbaits can be had in Sight Flash.
This year The Easy Shiner (Shad Profile) was preferred during the spawn.
Sight Flash and the Pearl are the ones that I dye to get all my colors for Crappie and Walleye.
I made a True Shad Frankenstein bait from Sexy Shad top half and tail, and the clear bottom of the sight flash....It has been the best Shad Imitation bait to date, when the Crappie are keying on shad, this one will catch them every time.

You can go to KeitechUSA - Keitech Baits in the USA for more choices.

Been a while since I've posted.. I finally made it up to CJ on 7/20. Having not been up there all year I decided to just troll so I could cover water and locate fish for my next trip. So, I marked several locations that were different from last year. I ran several colors and action cranks as well as varied speed from 1.0 to 2.3 on the I-pilot. I was on the water for about 4 hours in total. The water had a foul aroma. I'm guessing algae. We caught 16 crappies 2 white bass and 3 whisker dogs. None of the crappies met my boats 10 1/4" limit so they were returned. Large cranks were not the ticket. And believe it or not the smallest/cheapest crankbait I own was the winner. An Arkie crappie crank that sells at Wally World for $2.36. The color was red craw. Once I developed this little pattern,we switched all of the poles to that color. I checked depth and realized the larger ladies were suspended at 16' in 20-23' of water. 14 of the 16 crappies came to the boat in the last 20 minutes of the trip. Moral of the story is it took me way too long to find an open water pattern! I'll be back soon! This lake mystifies me. And I do have one question????? Does the DNR still stock CJ with walleye fingerlings? Y'all take care.

And I also forgot to mention that I used Offshore Tackle Tadpole divers to get those Arkie cranks down to that depth. By themselves they'll only run 6-7' deep. Just to clarify.

Yes Helpers, CJ got 2 loads of fingerlings this year...our normal allotment, and then an extra double allotment, this was due to the cool bug infested spring, and super growing conditions, leading to successful growing season and harvest at the Walleye fish farm.

Walleye are grown in outside tanks...they can only be raised to fingerlings size because they require large amounts of food at that age and will cannibalize each other....with so many extra bugs, their numbers remained well fed, healthy, and became a bumper crop.

Most of the hidden cover we put in is for the Walleye fingerlings to hide and grow....it has been working perfectly.
The cover allows hiding spots that can't be found or fished, and provides a feeding station to aid in their growth.
Now, there are around 800 (and growing) of these little "Condos" that look like a rock, all in perfect baby walleye spots.
Plenty of other Gator secrets about CJ also!lol

Water tem this morning from 730 to 11:30 was 75-77 deg. with wind from the start. Two boats with three on board landed four crappie ( three keeper size) and two nice cats. All returned to grow up and they swore on their fins not to tell others who caught them. Found out that my 6+ year old flip phone is not as water resistant as it use to be so message me here or call land line (663- five seven 8 zero) until uncle Ben does his job.

Well, at least you made it out. I spent all weekend running again. Went from in laws in St. P to my folks, passed you and got a glimpse of the new blue toy. Looks nice.

It started out slow for me anyway as I only had two bumps until about 11am (started at 7:45) My neighbor had two keepers and three caught by then. Our seventh spot was a better one to say the least, now with nine keepers(me 4) and four turned back to grow up. Water was still 74.7 to 78 deg and it was like glass until skiers went by then it was rock n roll but they did stay away from us fishing so that was great. Almost all were in 12-17 ft and by drop-offs,six of the nine were caught with Kietech and the others were black/chartreuse or blue chartreuse tube jigs. Great last minute trip !!!!
