We already had ice, the warm rain raised the overall temps, but the cold has again dropped the top layers....The Warmest water in Winter is found on the bottom. When lakes are frozen, normally the water on the bottom can be 39 degrees. It won't change again till Spring turn-over!
CJ has areas even warmer than that!
Like I said...being out Saturday with the Surface temps being 37 degrees, added a whole new piece of the puzzle about CJ in the Winter...I would have never thought what we saw was possible, but we got to see it with our own eyes, and in person.
Now I understand why the shad don't die in Winter, and ALOT of things going on with fish and their food!
